Perhaps you duplicated the /boot (or /) filesystem with the same UUID,
and GRUB is picking the old one?

 Ben.

Interesting. I am using grub2 which is supposed to read the filesystem
structure. So it means it is getting very confused somehow. Thanks for
the explanation though, I will try to keep digging.

You are actually booting the kernel from package version 2.6.38-3, not
the newly installed 2.6.38-5.  The modules depend on some functions that
 were added in 2.6.38-5.

You may be using an old version of lilo, or some other boot loader that
does not follow the current boot loader policy.

 Ben.

Bug#526582: kile: Provides empty path when executing external programs

2009-05-01 Thread Rodrigo Chandia
Package: kile
Version: 1:2.1.0~svn949704-1
Severity: normal

Trying to execute ViewDVI gives an error as if kpsewhich were not installed or
in the
path.

Upon further examination it appears that the enviroment does not provide a PATH
variable.

forcing kile to execute an script that provides a minimal PATH variable
containing /usr/bin (and then executes okular) provides a temporary fix.

Bug#505948: egroupware-core: Cannot setup after fresh install

2008-11-16 Thread Rodrigo Chandia
Package: egroupware-core
Version: 1.4.004-2.dfsg-4
Severity: important

Impossible to setup egroupware after installation. While trying to run the
setup it keeps propmting to enter header.inc.php setup due to:

Your header.inc.php needs upgrading.
WARNING!
MAKE BACKUPS!

header.inc.php version reports 1.28, so I guess it is rather a problem in
the code that verifies the header. Moreover, changing the version to 1.29 or
1.27 makes no difference.

According to an email in egroupware-users the prolem is that the
header.inc.php template is broken:

http://www.nabble.com/install-problem-1.6-stuck-in-header.inc.php-loop-td19131619s3741.html

I am still trying to get a good one, though.

2008-01-08 Thread Rodrigo Chandia
One can work around the problem by recreating the compressed file and forcing
recompilation:

# cd /tmp
# tar xvjf /usr/src/nvidia-kernel.tar.bz2
# tar cvzf nvidia-kernel-source.tar.gz modules
# cp nvidia-kernel-source.tar.gz /usr/src/
# m-a -f a-i nvidia

Cleanup:

# rm -rf /tmp/modules

Bug#409864: viewvc: No such file or directory: '/usr/lib/templates/directory.ezt' for SVN, but CVS works OK

2007-02-09 Thread Rodrigo Chandia
It seems that upgrading to viewvc 1.0.3-2 fixed the issue somehow... or
something else changed.

I cannot reproduce the issue anymore. I even tried downgrading to 1.0.3-1
without any apparent effect.

Running the code you sent produces the same info you get:

None
 /etc/viewvc/templates/directory.ezt

Hello, Rodrigo. I have tested your configuration, changing only:

 svn: /var/lib/svn

 by

 svn: /var/lib/svn/xterm

because there I have a local XTerm repository. It worked perfectly. In
the meanwhile, I am going to tag this bug as 'unreproducible'.

Could you please do the following as root?

 mv /usr/lib/viewvc/viewcv.pyc{,.orig}
 cp /usr/lib/viewvc/viewcv.py{,.orig}

and then overwrite your /usr/lib/viewvc/viewcv.py with the one I am sending
 attached? I simply added:

   print tname,br;

in lines 817 and 823, for your information.

Now try to reload the faulty page (I guess that it should something like
http://localhost/cgi-bin/viewvc.cgi/?root=svn) and send us the first two
lines. In my system, those are:

 None
 /etc/viewvc/templates/directory.ezt

Please tell me if there is any problem with the instructions.

   Best regards,

   Ender.

I got a similar error using the text interface. But using the urwid interface
worked flawlessly.

This was using an ssh session if it makes any difference.

This bug also looks very similar to bug #398904 perhaps is a duplicate.

Bug#296661: kscreensaver fails to load libXmu.so

2005-02-23 Thread Rodrigo Chandia
Package: kscreensaver
Version: 4:3.3.2-1

Several screen savers fail due to a missing library.

$ kfiresaver.kss
disabling TCL support
Unable to resolve Xmu symbols - please check your Xmu library installation.

I have libxmu installed though:

Package: libxmu6
Version: 4.3.0.dfsg.1-10

Running strace shows at the end that libXmu.so is searched all over /usr/lib
but not in /usr/X11R6/lib. Moreover unless you have x-libs-dev installed, you
will not have /usr/X11R6/lib/libXmu.so as as a symbolic link
to /usr/X11R6/lib/libXmu.so.6

So when I created the symbolic link by hand the screen saver now work
properly:

# cd /usr/lib
# ln -s libXmu.so /usr/X11R6/lib/libXmu.so.6

I guess this could rather be a bug within the libxmu that does not create the
symbolic link at /usr/lib.

I have Debian unstable up to date with the kde package installed.

Regards

Rodrigo Chandia
