I've seen this behavior on a terminal (such as > konsole) also inside tmux. Ah. Now I understand your problem. That's why you didn't get it. It did for me. I use unstable, updated several times a day. Me too, that's why I said, I have 4,250 packages, along with 47 of Libreoffice.org, with 4 other packages on the side. That is, 4,250 + 48 = 4,298. I'm still very surprised by this, and I can not reproduce it with > dpkg. Do you have any dpkg.cfg.d/ hooks installed, and what packages > do provide them? If you move those configuration fragments aside and > try running dpkg, does it still produce a non-working Ctrl+C? No. I don't use anything, no hook, no nothing. That's bareback. It already came that way in the installation. From dpkg I have 2 packages: dpkg and dpkg-dev, along with their dependencies. Nothing else. At least for the issue I've seen with apt and Ctrl+C, I've tracked > this down to having the «adequate» package installed. If I remove > that package then apt stops misbehaving. I'll either reassign the > apt bugs to adequate or file a new one, because I'm not sure who is > misbehaving, but I'd suspect adequate is the real culprit, which > got recently rewritten in Golang. Ah, I'm going to try to remove «Adequate», because if that's what it is... I don't know why I have it... maybe it's because of some package that needs it... I check and see. Well, that's going to be it, because before, having this package didn't give me any problem. It is now solved. It was that, the "adequate" gives problems, I do not understand how it can do it, because it is an essential package of other packages and libraries. Well, I have it solved. It is that problem. El 8/8/24 a las 02:27, Guillem Jover escribió: Well, I can very easily reproduce this with apt or aptitude, but not with dpkg alone. Just to make sure, before you call dpkg, Ctrl+C works, and after calling dpkg it stops working? Otherwise can you start a clean session where Ctrl+C works, then call the dpkg command you use to reproduce this and then check again whether Ctrl+C works? It plays after dpkg. Both apt, aptitude and dpkg play it for me. I don't know if it's a Python thing or not, because I have 2 versions (3.12 and 3.13). But as I said, it's strange. In text consoles, the famous F2 to F6, something happens to me, as I described before, when I do it, both with apt; aptitude and dpkg, the console closes when I finish the installation of a package. As I tell you, it's strange. I don't know how this problem can exist, because it shouldn't even be a problem. But well... Strange things happen, Sancho (the literal of Don Quixote de la Mancha). It does it with aptitude, apt and dpkg. I will try "exec bash -i", but I don't think it will tell me anything, I will try it before sending this mail. Bug#1078183: dpkg: Problems with CTRL+C and text consoles.
Package: dpkg Version: 1.22.11 Severity: important Dear Maintainer, With dpkg, when I am in console mode, with konsole, the combination CTRL + C breaks. Non-graphical consoles break when installing a package, either with dpkg or with apt. In konsole it crashes when I want to install a package under dpkg that does not work the console under konsole when doing CTRL + C and with certain commands. It also breaks when I do a ssh in local area that does not allow to connect to certain devices remotely. It messes it up. Check and fix it so it's not bad source code, because it's crashing quite a bit through this package more than anything else. Bug#1065010: libkf5kdelibs4support-data: Install and uninstall packages
Package: libkf5kdelibs4support-data Version: 5.107.0-1 Severity: normal Dear Maintainer, The problem now is that, apparently, having this update, I have been forced to uninstall packages that have unfulfilled dependencies on this package. And the packages that I had to uninstall (for the moment), are these: kaddressbook; kmail; knotes; libkf5akonadisearch-bin; libkf5akonadisearch- plugins; libkf5akonadisearchcore5; libkf5akonadisearchxapian5. So I know that I can wait a little while for new packages to come out to fix these problems. On the other hand, of the packages mentioned above, others are 'almost done', because I get new packages with t64, but it turns out that they are not complete. I know I can wait for them to appear in full. I'm afraid I'll have to reinstall from scratch with all the packages I have so far. I have faith that the full fixed packages will arrive between this week and next week. I don't need KMail, because I use another email client. I am aware that you are making the transition as painless as possible for everyone. Thank you very much, and with that, I wait patiently. -- System Information: Debian Release: trixie/sid APT prefers buildd-unstable APT policy: (500, 'buildd-unstable'), (500, 'unstable') Architecture: amd64 (x86_64) Kernel: Linux 6.6.15-amd64 (SMP w/12 CPU threads; PREEMPT) Locale: LANG=es_ES.UTF-8, LC_CTYPE=es_ES.UTF-8 (charmap=UTF-8), LANGUAGE=es Shell: /bin/sh linked to /usr/bin/dash Init: systemd (via /run/systemd/system) LSM: AppArmor: enabled -- no debconf information -- debsums errors found: debsums: missing file /usr/share/locale/af/LC_MESSAGES/kdelibs4support.mo (from libkf5kdelibs4support-data package) debsums: missing file /usr/share/locale/ar/LC_MESSAGES/kdelibs4support.mo (from libkf5kdelibs4support-data package) debsums: missing file /usr/share/locale/as/LC_MESSAGES/kdelibs4support.mo (from libkf5kdelibs4support-data package) debsums: missing file /usr/share/locale/az/LC_MESSAGES/kdelibs4support.mo (from libkf5kdelibs4support-data package) debsums: missing file /usr/share/locale/be/LC_MESSAGES/kdelibs4support.mo (from libkf5kdelibs4support-data package) debsums: missing file /usr/share/locale/be@latin/LC_MESSAGES/kdelibs4support.mo (from libkf5kdelibs4support-data package) debsums: missing file /usr/share/locale/bg/LC_MESSAGES/kdelibs4support.mo (from libkf5kdelibs4support-data package) debsums: missing file /usr/share/locale/bn/LC_MESSAGES/kdelibs4support.mo (from libkf5kdelibs4support-data package) debsums: missing file /usr/share/locale/bn_IN/LC_MESSAGES/kdelibs4support.mo (from libkf5kdelibs4support-data package) debsums: missing file /usr/share/locale/br/LC_MESSAGES/kdelibs4support.mo (from libkf5kdelibs4support-data package) debsums: missing file /usr/share/locale/bs/LC_MESSAGES/kdelibs4support.mo (from libkf5kdelibs4support-data package) debsums: missing file /usr/share/locale/ca/LC_MESSAGES/kdelibs4support.mo (from libkf5kdelibs4support-data package) debsums: missing file /usr/share/locale/ca@valencia/LC_MESSAGES/kdelibs4support.mo (from libkf5kdelibs4support-data package) debsums: missing file /usr/share/locale/crh/LC_MESSAGES/kdelibs4support.mo (from libkf5kdelibs4support-data package) debsums: missing file /usr/share/locale/cs/LC_MESSAGES/kdelibs4support.mo (from libkf5kdelibs4support-data package) debsums: missing file /usr/share/locale/csb/LC_MESSAGES/kdelibs4support.mo (from libkf5kdelibs4support-data package) debsums: missing file /usr/share/locale/cy/LC_MESSAGES/kdelibs4support.mo (from libkf5kdelibs4support-data package) debsums: missing file /usr/share/locale/da/LC_MESSAGES/kdelibs4support.mo (from libkf5kdelibs4support-data package) debsums: missing file /usr/share/locale/de/LC_MESSAGES/kdelibs4support.mo (from libkf5kdelibs4support-data package) debsums: missing file /usr/share/locale/el/LC_MESSAGES/kdelibs4support.mo (from libkf5kdelibs4support-data package) debsums: missing file /usr/share/locale/en_GB/LC_MESSAGES/kdelibs4support.mo (from libkf5kdelibs4support-data package) debsums: missing file /usr/share/locale/eo/LC_MESSAGES/kdelibs4support.mo (from libkf5kdelibs4support-data package) debsums: missing file /usr/share/locale/et/LC_MESSAGES/kdelibs4support.mo (from libkf5kdelibs4support-data package) debsums: missing file /usr/share/locale/eu/LC_MESSAGES/kdelibs4support.mo (from libkf5kdelibs4support-data package) debsums: missing file /usr/share/locale/fa/LC_MESSAGES/kdelibs4support.mo (from libkf5kdelibs4support-data package) debsums: missing file /usr/share/locale/fi/LC_MESSAGES/kdelibs4support.mo (from libkf5kdelibs4support-data package) debsums: missing file /usr/share/locale/fr/LC_MESSAGES/kdelibs4support.mo (from libkf5kdelibs4support-data package) debsums: missing file /usr/share/locale/fy/LC_MESSAGES/kdelibs4support.mo (from libkf5kdelibs4support-data package) debsums: missing file /usr/share/locale/ga/LC_MESSAGES/kdelibs4support.mo (from libkf5kdelibs4support-data package) de

I have followed this: https://wiki.debian.org/GrubEFIReinstall Best of all, it had another entry that led me to another file that did have the GRUB signature, but for "Secure Boot". In /boot/efi/EFI I have all this: root@local:/boot/efi/EFI# ls -l total 16 drwx-- 4 root root 4096 abr 28 11:31 . drwx-- 4 root root 4096 ene 1 1970 .. drwx-- 2 root root 4096 abr 28 01:48 boot drwx-- 2 root root 4096 abr 28 01:48 debian In boot is only bootx64.efi In debian only grubx64.efi and grub.cfg (this files only executing on the without "Secure Boot". I created an entry with the efibootmgr command, as follows: efibootmgr -c -d /dev/sda -p 1 -L Debian -l /EFI/boot/bootx64.efi I had 2 entries, which are somewhat similar, and I remember that I had to have another file called efiboot.efi, or something like that, which did come signed. What do I think is with the file grubnetx64.efi.signed or grubnetx64-installer.efi.signed (I see that they are 2 files the same, but with different input methods. These are in the grub-efi-amd-signed package). But I don't remember how I regenerate this, although I do have this: BootCurrent: 0001 Timeout: 1 seconds BootOrder: 0001, Boot* Windows Boot Manager HD(2,GPT,c2bdbf40-04ac-41ad-9773-c5d874927e08,0x109000,0x32000)/File(\EFI\MICROSOFT\BOOT\BOOTMGFW.EFI)WINDOWS.x...B.C.D.O.B.J.E.C.T.=.{.9.d.e.a.8.6.2.c.-.5.c.d.d.-.4.e.7.0.-.a.c.c.1.-.f.3.2.b.3.4.4.d.4.7.9.5.} Boot0001* debian HD(1,GPT,569385db-cb51-4599-b31b-fc1791d4bd0e,0x800,0x10)/File(\EFI\debian\grubx64.efi). I had to delete one of the entries I have from efiboot.efi, because it did not work for me. And I had to format the ESP partition of the EFI this. Now I don't know how to regenerate all this. I did everything, I've been thinking about this for almost 24 hours, because I thought it was my fault, but no. I will have to reinstall everything from scratch. El 27/4/20 a las 17:36, Steve McIntyre escribió: Hi again.I was thinking about formatting the /boot/efi directory, because I think it's a directory problem, in case 2 appears. Well I see one in / boot/efi/Boot, with another one that is in /boot/efi/EFI/debian, because there is another one from debian, that is in /boot/efi/debian. I do not know, if it is because I have 2 directories equal to others, but with these different files that I see, which is the bootx64.efi file, which seems to be 2 sizes. The same is the failure in which it arises. Because these 2 problems can go there. I am sure I would have to fix it quickly later, with the Debian flash drive that I have to do everything in "Rescue Mode". I can do it, because if it doesn't work, it is then, the problem of the packages, for sure. -- Saludos de Santiago José López Borrazás. Enviando desde Mozilla Thunderbird.

It is that, it is rare, that when I tried to install everything, the boot in safe mode does not recognize me in UEFI mode. I had to remove the "Secure boot" to enter Linux, because in another Win partition it does work. I did nothing, just install the packages that had to be for the boot to work in EFI. Therefore, it does not allow me to enter "secure boot", if I remove it, I enter perfectly. This, in 2.0.4-6, does not happen to me, or that I have not had any problem, and yes in this new version. Package: grub-efi Version: 2.04-7 Severity: important Dear Maintainer, The new version of GRUB, which is 2.0.4-7, I find a problem that does not sign, or does not collect the EFI signature, that for this, I have to disable the "Secure Boot" implementation, because it does not load even the of three. I already tried with the Debian pendrive to install and load the GRUB, along with the command "update-grub", but nothing, I have to disable the "Secure Boot" to do this job, because it does not load. In the previous version, which was 2.0.4-6, it did load perfectly, but this other version, no, not even in dreams. Bug#917293: kinit: The kdeinit5 consumes and takes about 3 ~ 5 minutes to give me control of the environment.
Package: kinit Version: 5.51.0-1 Severity: important Dear Maintainer, When I want to enter the KDE, it takes me a lot to finish the session. It consumes CPU and it takes, like an average of between 3 and 5 minutes to give me session control. I have tried creating another user and do the same. This bug has been playing for a week now. And it's pretty weird What I consider, that is a BUG, for that reason, and it is of great importance. With htop I checked what it consumes, with this command when starting the graphical environment: kdeinit5 --oom-pipe 4 --kded +kcminit_startup I thought there was a package missing, but no. I do not miss any package in important dependencies. This has never happened to me. In my life. Bug#846389: plasma-workspace: To every moment it cracks the plasmashell.
Package: plasma-workspace Version: 4:5.8.4-1 Severity: important Dear Maintainer, It does not give me a lot of information of this bug, but advance that, occasionally, on having gone from one window to other one, the plasmashell cracks. The curious thing is, that I have a script that for from time to time I have to kill the plasmashell as it continues: #!/bin/sh killall plasmashell & sleep 5 plasmashell --shut-up & In the previous version of the plasma - workspace this was not happening to me. Although, it is something rare that does not show me in console any reference to be able to copy and stick to give information. The case is, that when there changes just the title of the window (the bar of title), it chats without reason and I have to kill it to be able to touch with the cursor. But, I cannot do the rapid work. Something says to me that it is rather, a treatment error that another thing. It is a problem that comes through the xserver-xorg-core than anything else. If you should be able to downgrade to the desktop as it was before. But since the subject, I give here a graph of the problem: http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-rnMAtsl8n4A/Tm6B2EGTnyI/AJk/uWOPHAKgmEQ/s1600/desktop.png No kidding. That's all, I too am going on. And I think that is a problem with xserver-xorg-core than anything else. Cheers. -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to debian-bugs-dist-requ...@lists.debian.org with a subject of "unsubscribe". Trouble? Contact listmas...@lists.debian.org

Ah. Then from there, so I gather that nvidia will not work with these new packages. A few days have the 285 version, but it took a few days. Problems of compatibility perhaps? And indeed, there is the issue, i am with Unstable/Sid. So now i have to be so few days until Nvidia take a more decent and compatible with xserver-video-abi-11 and xserver-video-abi-13. That but i have to wait at least, two weeks or so to get a decent version and run it without problems. > NVIDIA needs to update their driver so that it works with the new > Xorg. Reviewed by me from the issue, which is a temporary failure, and being run ignoreABI is a temporary solution. So I hope that Nvidia will take a driver to correct this implementation I say, that what is being said is outdated. So, i have no choice but to wait. -BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE- Hash: SHA512 Hi: I thought that at least two days or three, they solved the problem. Is that without the ABI, i can not run programs as LibreOffice or, as JDownloader, or the very Adobe Reader, which i can not open. I always give 'crashes' ??everywhere. Thankfully, with Firefox as the Thunderbird or the VLC does not happen to me these things. Although reassignment was made, i do not come the problem of nvidia-glx, but rather, xserver-xorg-core. But hey, we'll leave to give the benefit of doubt and rectify the problems that exist now. I do not know. I guess I'll be somewhat agree with what he says Cyril. But no doubt it is the other (see ABI only 11 and 13 in the xserver-xorg-core and nvidia ABI only need 10). They call me many things, but I think the new Xorg package is well implemented. Still, it fails only in the nvidia 280.13 and above (I think But you might try other than the conflicted Or care?). Run nvidia also failed, and only gives me that error I mentioned in the / var/log/Xorg.0.log, that I get the same driver. As many as one, such as Debian packages fail. Therefore, when you run 'startx' will not start X. But if I do 'startx - --ignoreABI yes. And right now, do not show not even the right colors, nor the sources. Only that, it does not work directly.
