Bug#638478: Another request to package glade-3.8
Dear Glade maintainer, Thanks for your work in packaging Glade. I am trying to use Glade with gtk2hs (Haskell GTK+ library), which is GTK2 only. For this I need Glade 3.8. For now, it looks like I have to download all the dependencies, and build my own package. This is a real distraction from my core work; I'm not sure I can justify the time. So, please would you reconsider your previous decision not to package Glade 3.8 ? cheers, Simon -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to debian-bugs-dist-requ...@lists.debian.org with a subject of "unsubscribe". Bug#611221: mupdf: Needs a key to page through all text
Package: mupdf Version: 0.7-2 Severity: wishlist mupdf really needs a couple of keys to page up/down through all text. The problem is exhibited if the page is zoomed so the whole contents are not visible in the window. Page Up/Down does not do the job currently, as it skips from one page to the next without showing the top/bottom of each page. Cursor Up/Down does not do either, as it only scrolls within a page. So currently, the only way to read the whole document when zoomed in is to alternately hit on Page Down and Cursor Down (several times). This is quite a pain, and mars an otherwise superb PDF viewer. I suggest that Page Up/Down be changed so that they scroll if necessary to show text off the bottom/top, and if none, then show the next page (from the top/bottom as appropriate). cheers, Simon -- System Information: Debian Release: 6.0 APT prefers unstable APT policy: (500, 'unstable') Architecture: i386 (i686) Kernel: Linux 2.6.32-5-686 (SMP w/2 CPU cores) Locale: LANG=en_NZ.UTF-8, LC_CTYPE=en_NZ.UTF-8 (charmap=UTF-8) (ignored: LC_ALL set to en_NZ.UTF-8) Shell: /bin/sh linked to /bin/dash Versions of packages mupdf depends on: ii libc6 2.11.2-10Embedded GNU C Library: Shared lib ii libfreetype62.4.2-2.1FreeType 2 font engine, shared lib ii libjbig2dec00.11-1 JBIG2 decoder library - shared lib ii libjpeg62 6b1-1The Independent JPEG Group's JPEG ii libopenjpeg21.3+dfsg-4 JPEG 2000 image compression/decomp ii libx11-62:1.3.3-4X11 client-side library ii libxext62:1.1.2-1X11 miscellaneous extension librar ii zlib1g 1:1.2.3.4.dfsg-3 compression library - runtime mupdf recommends no packages. Hi, I hit the same problem, which is that synfig is passing options to ffmpeg which ffmpeg doesn't understand, namely -loop -hq -title blah. Probably a previous version of ffmpeg understood these options, but the latest one appears not to. The proper fix is therefore to update synfig to use the correct options for ffmpeg. In the meantime, I wrote a python script called ffmpeg which you could keep somewhere on your path ahead of /usr/bin. It simply strips out the bogus options and invokes the real ffmpeg. Yes I know it's a bit of a dodgy solution, but needs must ... cheers, Simon #!/usr/bin/python # ffmpeg - a work-around for synfig to filter out the bogus arguments that # get passed in when rendering import os import sys original_args = sys.argv new_args = [] #print original_args while len(original_args) > 0: arg = original_args.pop(0) if arg == "-loop" or arg == "-hq": pass elif arg == "-title": original_args.pop(0) else: new_args.append(arg) #print new_args os.execv("/usr/bin/ffmpeg", new_args)

Bug#550702: Reverting to grub-legacy solved my problem
I hit a problem with similar symptoms. Grub would hang, and then enter grub-rescue mode, with no disks available, and nothing apparently I could do. I now boot using grub-legacy which is installed in the MBR in the usual way. Booting into Windows XP does not disturb the situation. Bug#255763: Works OK on my AMD64 system
Hi, In trying to track down another SDL related AMD64 problem ;-), I came across this one. I'm running Debian Sarge AMD64 on a Asus A8V-Deluxe motherboard based system, which uses the VIA K8T800Pro chipset. My sound is perfectly fine in SDL games such as frozen-bubble. So the very general statement "libsdl doesn't appear to be 64bit clean" is not (or at least, no longer) true. Bug#311924: Final outcome
Well, I never did solve this problem, and was just left with monit restarting dansguardian every morning. In the meantime, I have setup a new AMD64 box running Debian sarge, and here dansguardian runs just fine. Bug#311924: One spurious problem found, real problem remains
Well, I discovered why monit was reporting dansguardian failures at 7:43am every morning. Bad interaction between logrotate, which involves stopping dansguardian, and monit checking it's running. So I've tweaked the dansguardian logrotate script to get monit to unmonitor dansguardian for the duration of the logrotate. Bug#311924: Progress towards a solution
Well, my grotesque hack wasn't so bad. I installed monit, which besides restarting dansguardian on failure, tells me when it happened. Interestingly, in the time I've had monit running (2 days), dansguardian failure has been detected each morning at 7:43am. I think something in cron.daily might be killing it. However, I've run all the cron.daily scripts by hand, and none of them did. So I'm still wondering, but perhaps getting closer. But this package is only to be found in the directory I mention. $ locate mew-w3m.el /usr/share/emacs/site-lisp/w3m/mew-w3m.el So, unless I have that directory on the load-path, I cannot pick up this package. cheers, Simon -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] with a subject of "unsubscribe". Bug#290909: w3m-el: w3m not added to Emacs load-path
Package: w3m-el Version: 1.4.3-2 Severity: normal Hi, This package installs its stuff into /usr/share/emacs/site-lisp/w3m. However, this directory does not get added to the Emacs load path. Bug#285818: Here's the patch
I understand that the original bug report didn't have a patch attached. However, when I tagged this bug with "patch", I attached the patch to the control email. You can see if you look at the full text of the control message. Perhaps this was the wrong thing to do. Anyway, I suspect you overlooked this, since you refer to my (original) reference to a sourceforge project, rather than my attached patch. So I am having another go. The patch is attached to this email. Sorry if you didn't in fact overlook my patch. I'm not sure what I can do better than attach the output of debian/rules make_patch on the latest source version in Debian unstable. (Is it too late to attach a patch later, like this?) cheers, Simon (trying hard to be helpful ...) diff -Nru3 ./xc/programs/Xserver/hw/xfree86/drivers/i810/i830_cursor.c ../build-tree.new/xc/programs/Xserver/hw/xfree86/drivers/i810/i830_cursor.c --- ./xc/programs/Xserver/hw/xfree86/drivers/i810/i830_cursor.c 2005-01-04 12:32:09.0 + +++ ../build-tree.new/xc/programs/Xserver/hw/xfree86/drivers/i810/i830_cursor.c 2004-12-30 23:04:16.0 + @@ -2,7 +2,7 @@ /** Copyright 1998-1999 Precision Insight, Inc., Cedar Park, Texas. -Copyright © 2002 David Dawes +Copyright 2002 David Dawes All Rights Reserved.
