Bug#303176: /etc/logcheck/ignore.d.server/bind: changed log message in bind9 9.3.1-2

2005-04-05 Thread Stephan Niemz
Package: logcheck-database
Version: 1.2.35
Severity: normal
File: /etc/logcheck/ignore.d.server/bind
Tags: patch

When upgrading bind9 from version 1:9.2.5-1 to 1:9.3.1-2, the syslog
messages of the type

Apr 4 07:49:37 gauss named[2179]: received notify for zone '127.in-addr.arpa'

have changed to:

Apr 5 07:46:26 gauss named[29651]: client 127.0.0.1#34408: received notify for
zone '127.in-addr.arpa'

Please change /etc/logcheck/ignore.d.server/bind accordingly. Suggested
new entry there (hence the patch tag):

^\w{3} [ :0-9]{11} [._[:alnum:]-]+ named\[[0-9]+\]: client [0-9.#]+: received
notify for zone '[._[:alnum:]-]+'$

Thanks,

- Stephan.

Bug#296201: mount: unprivileged user can mount partition without updating mtab

2005-02-23 Thread Stephan Niemz
There is quite a simple solution to this problem:

ln -sf ../proc/mounts mtab

Maybe this could be added to postinst or similar. Of course this
only works when procfs is mounted to /proc, but is anyone really not
doing this nowadays?

The other advantage is that mount and df show the correct file
systems even when / is mounted read-only, e. g. in single user mode.

Cheers,

- Stephan.

thanks

This *is* reproducible, although I think one should always avoid doing a
kill -9 if not really really absolutely necessary.

And I have suggested a patch in a previous message.

Cheers,

- Stephan.

Bug#294211: diff lacks Suggests dependency to diff-doc

I generally do not consider necessary a Suggests: when the main

has been moved to diff-doc, I'll make an exception for diff.

Actually, it were the info pages which were missing to me, and it was
not that obvious to me where to find them, which made me file this bug.

Gracias,

- Stephan.

Bug#294211: diff lacks Suggests dependency to diff-doc

2005-02-08 Thread Stephan Niemz
Package: diff
Version: 2.8.1-7
Severity: minor

Please add a Suggests: diff-doc dependency to package diff, as
it seams to be the current practice in other packages. This would
make it easier to find the documentation.

Thanks,

- Stephan.
