I see. The corresponding bug report in Debian #710129 has not been
answered since May 2013, but according to the Fedora Wiki [1] there is a
GIT branch of bluedevil that supports Bluez5. Maybe that could be
packaged in Debian or uploaded via NMU if nothing else happens?

Bug#729338: [src:linux] Please enable CONFIG_UHID

2013-11-11 Thread Szymon Janc
Package: src:linux
Version: 3.11
Severity: wishlist

From Documentation/hid/uhid.txt
The UHID driver allows to implement HID I/O Drivers in user-space and feed
the data into the kernel HID-subsystem.

This allows user-space to operate on the same level as USB-HID, Bluetooth-HID
and similar.

This is needed for HoG support (HID over GATT) - HID device over Bluetooth Low
Energy (aka Smart) provided by BlueZ5.

Lack of /etc/dbus-1/system.d/bluetooth.conf is the root cause of bluetoothd

must have removed it (or there is sth wrong with bluez package).

note: you need to restart dbus after restoring this file

Hope that helps!:)

Bug#496676: arrayprobe

2011-01-17 Thread Szymon Janc
Hello All,

Since upstream seams to be no longer active on this one I went ahead and did
some maintenance work on arrayprobe.

I don't use arrayprobe and looked at it because it is RC for Squeeze so please
review (it's not one-liner) and (if brave enough:) test it.

Instead of just fix reported issue with tape I refactored some code to not used
dynamic memory, I hope this fix memory issues reported already and minimize
chance of similar bugs in the future. It also fixes some other bugs identified
during reviewing/coding (overwriting memory, leaks etc) and buffer overflow
bugs
reported.

As I mentioned before, I'm not able to test it myself so there might be (I'm
pretty sure of that :) some bugs.
I can spend some more time on it if testers show up and report issues :)

Comments are welcome.

Bug#556749: nvidia-kernel-source: update initramfs on upgrade

Why would you want to include the nvidia module in your initramfs image?

Some time ago I was experiencing issues with long driver (not with every
version) initialization which caused KDM failed to start or (less frequently)
KDM started but my monitor was turning off (I had to switch to console and back
to turn it on again).

Including nvidia module in initramfs solved all my issues at that time (module
was loaded ~5 seconds earlier). Yet, on driver upgrade if I forgot to update
initramfs manually, xserver didn't start because of nvidia module version
mismatch.

This is not an issue on my system anymore and since putting video driver in
initramfs is not typical use case, I will not protest if You wish to close
this as won't fix.

Bug#537558: dpkg: fails to upgrade from 1.15.2

2009-07-19 Thread Szymon Janc
Dnia niedziela 19 lipiec 2009 o 15:21:26 Raphael Hertzog napisał(a):

This bug is probably a duplicate of #535138. Can you give us the output of
 ls -alR /var/lib/dpkg/alternatives ?

If you have sub-directory there, please remove it and check that you can
upgrade fine. It's already fixed in the git repo (for 1.15.4).

I've seen this bug report and at the begining I thought the same, but there is
no directory in my /var/lib/dpkg/alternatives..

Bug#526169: N/A

2009-05-06 Thread Szymon Janc
This is not a bug in xorg intel driver itself but in kernel KMS code.
See https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=21246 for more details and
link to linux git comming with patch.

Installing 2.6.30-rc4 fix this issue.

Maybe this bug(s) should be reassigned to debian linux kernel package? Patch
is small and it shouldn't be a problem for kernel team to fix this issue in
debian 2.6.29.

Install busybox package and make sure that
BUSYBOX=y in /etc/initramfs-tools/initramfs.conf is set.
After that run update-initramfs -u

I think that splashy should depend on busybox.

I'll add your workaround to the wrapper script.

Working around will do the trick, but as far as I've checked, to fully close
this bug it must be fixed by upstream because it is an application bug caused
by not initializing xcb library properly.
