Bug#907695: ITP: python-metaextract -- collect metadata about a python module
Package: wnpp Severity: wishlist Owner: Thomas Bechtold * Package name: python-metaextract Version : 1.0.4 Upstream Author : Thomas Bechtold * URL : https://pypi.org/project/metaextract/ * License : Apache-2.0 Programming Lang: Python Description : collect metadata about a python module metaextract is a tool to collect metadata about a python module. For example you may have a sdist tarball from the Python Package Index and you want to know it’s dependencies. metaextract can collect theses dependencies. The tool was first developed in py2pack but is now it’s own module to be useful for others, too. The package is a dependency of py2pack which I also intent to package for Debian.

Bug#743029: autopkgtest: Support access to package repository during testrun
Package: autopkgtest Version: 2.11 Severity: wishlist Dear Maintainer, I want to write a dep8 test for python-diskimage-builder. The test should do something like this: 1) Create a qemu image (with: disk-image-create -a amd64 -u -o debian-amd64 vm debian) 2) Boot the image with qemu 3) Try to login with ssh For the first step, disk-image-create uses debootstrap which needs access to a Debian mirror but during the tests I can not assume to have internet access. So I need a mirror which I can use for the tests. I guess other packages (ie debootstrap, openstack-debian-images) need this as well to write dep8 tests. If I ignore the error, everything works as expected but I guess that's not the correct resolution for the problem. No; we can't afford to ignore the error. Depending upon what happens after this point, it might well be a security issue or cause dataloss depending upon what PAM has been configured to do, though this is probably unlikely. But it would certainly be against the spirit of the PAM API to ignore it. I think it's most likely that the PAM error is external to schroot; schroot just asks PAM to start, stop, authenticate etc. and does not really have any input into what it does. I would suspect this error is the fault of a single PAM module. If it would be possible to identify which is at fault, we can look into it in more detail. You could try commenting out the various lines of /etc/pam.d.schroot and also in the referenced generic files if they don't help. PAM might have some means of enabling debugging messages here, but I don't know for sure. I commented some pam modules and the problem comes from the ssh module. If I comment session optionalpam_ssh.so from /etc/pam.d/common-session or just remove the package libpam-ssh, everything works fine. -BEGIN PGP SIGNATURE- Version: GnuPG v1 Comment: Using GnuPG with Icedove - http://www.enigmail.net/ iQIcBAEBCAAGBQJS5MqwAAoJEELuctrCcxmtlYAP/00n6pj43Z+u/kkVLnH5Pz2e ObAJQo0TkMFF4Ao4hiKfbNYSAhyyxScoefl5cdSdOir6MYzqCA3kvdKuLfnv3IEE U5Fiw+mHbLPqeoGgMAbWokKFzLt2xEoPC8lQ2ubWVfCekz+S4wtOvxqMHfUGsl9o oQiESCnaBHpXw2ryzmKQr3IdO5K/jfdyTLV4deJH/GfhnXl/RzcnV6sZo3dapXdB vC+mLm2W5OPbHJnrXPihZbU5YFgNoI1vz0zEfQYFOGYY47gNCb+GQy1veTB4K+lr TTqCzmDAiXuvtpDor5KYntB8gJnOiqQOLekSvY+j9y5i11dDfzqDEAXtMZetqwev aTBO/v29xeeFCtC+wUCjcy5ZDaxeh4ZTdrDnBwN588GSaga0Ve0ft1w73edU/Ljy R7yuYM3UbEzdKXzMtjMbDFbvdylSSwF3NXBcMFvNTvqmlrd7lU+BxbH3nj5SbxVz nixi/9iVzg1OwJu3te+Y23vkYSmEBsNyRwtf1oUOF8ul23DHL20XPyh2/B+jjrdK bU8UM/LGOM0N3v3oRZ0hWQT+mhEISBjjxFT6ObQqCzGTY0QX0Qtwl6b8v2e2Ag2K F5GoVS4LMpfy4lufanCo8VvKP50MmdQ94kNONtYhIPjg6fO6E6tyejabOOzPb7re 64MFxFbTyMtU0uXf4hV+ =znq8 -END PGP SIGNATURE- -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to debian-bugs-dist-requ...@lists.debian.org with a subject of unsubscribe. Bug#736072: qa.debian.org: debian/watch redirector for puppet modules from forge.puppetlabs.com
Package: qa.debian.org Severity: wishlist Tags: patch Dear QA team, I'm the maintainer of some puppet modules and a couple of days ago the debian/watch files are no longer working because puppetlabs changed the way howto get the information about available versions. It's now possible to get the available versions in json format. ie on https://forgeapi.puppetlabs.com/v3/modules/puppetlabs-firewall for the module firewall from the user puppetlabs. I have written a patch (see attachment) for a puppetlabs redirector. The patch can be applied on top of svn.debian.org/svn/qa/trunk/cgi-bin/fakeupstream.cgi I tested the patch locally with the following debian/watch file: version=3 http://localhost/cgi-bin/fakeupstream.cgi?upstream=forge.puppetlabs/puppetlabs/firewall \ .*/puppetlabs-firewall-(.+)\.tar\.gz Can you review and apply the patch to fakeupstream.cgi if you are happy with it? And what's the procedure to get this patch rolled out so the debian/watch files can use the new redirector? If this works as expected for you I will merge it into python-apt. Later Versions of apt have a global Clear(), we should probably use that once bindings are added. Attached is a patch that adds support for the Clear() without a subtree. The downside is that it needs apt = 0.9.11 to build. If that is a concern for backports I could springle in some #ifdefs. Bug#726698: ITP: puppet-module-puppetlabs-xinetd -- The xinetd module let you manage xinetd with Puppet
Hi Jonathan, On 10/18/2013 09:52 AM, Jonathan Dowland wrote: It's good to see puppet modules being packaged for Debian. Is there a team under which such efforts are coordinated? Are they being managed in a vcs? There's a team on alioth[1] and the packages are all managed in git[2]. Packages from forge.puppetlabs.com can be semi-automatically created with a python script[3] I'd suggest flipping the order of the two paragraphs in the long description: put the text which describes the module first, and the text which explains puppet second. I'd also suggest a shorter and more impartial puppet description such as Puppet is a declarative configuration management tool for handling heterogeneous collections of hosts We currently use the same base description for every puppet package. Can you describe your experience a bit more in detail and why you think puppet modules shouldn't be available as debian packages? Just download the puppetforge modules - if you really want to - and deploy them together with your custom puppet modules. You still can do this and you don't have to install the debian packages. The reasons why I wouldn't do this are: - I wan to have everthing at my system as package available. - I want to be sure that my used version of a module is still available after a couple of years (that's the case for debian packages). - I don't like embedded code copies so downloading the module and just deploy it with my modules seems to be wrong in my opinion - For automatic deployment I sometimes don't have a internet connection. I just have a connection to my local debian mirror. In this case, Just download the puppetforge modules just does not work. Cheers, Tom signature.asc Description: OpenPGP digital signature

Hi, this seems to be a problem with the m4 macro. check uses acx_pthread.m4 but the same problem seems to be available in ax_pthread.m4 from the autoconf archive. A bugfix (which can be easily ported to acx_pthread.m4 from check) is available here: http://savannah.gnu.org/patch/index.php?8081 . I'll forward the bugfix to check upstream and prepare a patch for the debian package. -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to debian-bugs-dist-requ...@lists.debian.org with a subject of unsubscribe. Trouble?
