Bug#640972: linux-image-2.6.32-5-amd64: SATA errors every ~30sec ata##: hard resetting link... SATA link down (SStatus 0 SControl 300/310)... EH Complete
Am I correct in observing that these errors are for SATA channels that aren't connected to anything inside the ExpressCard? (This is a sealed ExpressCard SSD.) If so, is there a way to tell the kernel to ignore them? It does appear that the card works significantly (say 20%) slower on Linux than on Win7. Could the time spent resetting the device be related to this slowdown? (I would do further testing on the Windows side, but I don't have Win7 installed any longer; I had installed it to do a BIOS update.) -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to debian-bugs-dist-requ...@lists.debian.org with a subject of unsubscribe. Bug#642063: metacity: Double-clicking titlebar doesn't undo maximize button
Package: metacity Version: 1:2.30.1-3 Severity: normal When double-clicking the titlebar is configured in SystemPreferencesWindows to only maximize horizontally or vertically, double-clicking the titlebar in a fully-maximized (via the button in the upper right corner) maximized window only undoes maximization on one of the two axes, leaving the other maximized. What's worse, the stuck direction now has with a border and a mouseover mouse-pointer change that imply that manually correcting this stuck maximization is possible when it isn't. The only way to clear this up and unglue the maximized direction is to fully maximize again, then use the window- menu Restore operation or the upper-right-corner Maximize/Restore button to undo the full maximization in both directions. -- System Information: Debian Release: 6.0.2 APT prefers stable-updates APT policy: (500, 'stable-updates'), (500, 'stable') Architecture: amd64 (x86_64) Kernel: Linux 2.6.39-bpo.2-amd64 (SMP w/4 CPU cores) Locale: LANG=en_US.UTF-8, LC_CTYPE=en_US.UTF-8 (charmap=UTF-8) Shell: /bin/sh linked to /bin/dash Versions of packages metacity depends on: ii libatk1.0-01.30.0-1 The ATK accessibility toolkit ii libc6 2.11.2-10 Embedded GNU C Library: Shared lib ii libcairo2 1.10.2-6~bpo60+1 The Cairo 2D vector graphics libra ii libcanberra-gtk0 0.24-1Gtk+ helper for playing widget eve ii libcanberra0 0.24-1a simple abstract interface for pl ii libgconf2-42.28.1-6 GNOME configuration database syste ii libglib2.0-0 2.24.2-1 The GLib library of C routines ii libgtk2.0-02.20.1-2 The GTK+ graphical user interface ii libgtop2-7 2.28.1-1 gtop system monitoring library (sh ii libice62:1.0.6-2 X11 Inter-Client Exchange library ii libmetacity-private0 1:2.30.1-3library for the Metacity window ma ii libpango1.0-0 1.28.3-1+squeeze2 Layout and rendering of internatio ii libsm6 2:1.1.1-1 X11 Session Management library ii libstartup-notificatio 0.10-1library for program launch feedbac ii libx11-6 2:1.3.3-4 X11 client-side library ii libxcomposite1 1:0.4.2-1 X11 Composite extension library ii libxcursor11:1.1.10-2X cursor management library ii libxdamage11:1.1.3-1 X11 damaged region extension libra ii libxext6 2:1.1.2-1 X11 miscellaneous extension librar ii libxfixes3 1:4.0.5-1 X11 miscellaneous 'fixes' extensio ii libxinerama1 2:1.1-3 X11 Xinerama extension library ii libxrandr2 2:1.3.0-3 X11 RandR extension library ii libxrender11:0.9.6-1 X Rendering Extension client libra ii metacity-common1:2.30.1-3shared files for the Metacity wind ii zenity 2.30.0-1 Display graphical dialog boxes fro Versions of packages metacity recommends: ii gnome-session [x-session-mana 2.30.2-3 The GNOME Session Manager - GNOME Versions of packages metacity suggests: ii gnome-control-center 1:2.30.1-2 utilities to configure the GNOME d ii gnome-themes 2.30.2-1 official themes for the GNOME desk ii xdg-user-dirs 0.13-2 tool to manage well known user dir -- no debconf information -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to debian-bugs-dist-requ...@lists.debian.org with a subject of unsubscribe. Image (link below) of graphical mouse pointer left behind whenever you Ctrl-Alt-Shift-F# to text VTs while Xorg is running with an external screen connected on an Arrandale. http://i.imgur.com/VkJRu.jpg The pointer does not move or go away; it stays in that spot as you use the text console, even if text, gpm, etc, paints under that area of the screen. Also, second montior left with X11 screen painted on it; console only appears on primary (closed laptop) screen (when switching away in any other configuration leaves console on both screens). Switching to other (non-X) VTs does not remove the X mouse pointer from screen. Moving the mouse causes GPM mouse pointer to do what it normally does, but X11 pointer still painted on text console as well. Happens every time when switching with second monitor in use in a non-mirroring mode. Will appear in a different place if you switch back to X11 VT, move mouse, and switch back to console VT. Having a pointer glued on your text console is a major distraction/ source of confusion for all users. -- Package-specific info: ** Version: Linux version 2.6.32-5-amd64 (Debian 2.6.32-35squeeze1) (da...@debian.org) (gcc version 4.3.5 (Debian 4.3.5-4) ) #1 SMP Wed Aug 31 16:50:35 UTC 2011 ** Command line: BOOT_IMAGE=/boot/vmlinuz-2.6.32-5-amd64 root=UUID=b192ca9c-0897-46ac-9716-6da5f370e651 ro quiet ** Not tainted ** Kernel log: [5.324665] loop: module loaded [5.452782] ip_tables: (C) 2000-2006 Netfilter Core Team [5.465727] nf_conntrack version 0.5.0 (16384 buckets, 65536 max) [5.465985] CONFIG_NF_CT_ACCT is deprecated and will be removed soon. Oh dear... I hit send on the second rename email hours ago, before the merges, while in a wifi-free area... would not mind if someone undoes this action or picks a more suitable title.
