I have uploaded 2.2.2 to experimental. You can apt-get it or download it
from ftp://ftp.debian.org/debian/pool/main/s/solfege/ after the next
dinstall run. (I think it is run at least once a day.)

Let me know what you think about the package.

We are sort of trying to make a release, so I'm not shure if I want to
upload 2.2.2 to unstable.

Bug#314994: O: python-slang

2005-06-19 Thread Tom Cato Amundsen
Package: wnpp
Severity: normal

I'm orphaning this because I don't have time/interest to fix
it to rebuild it with slang2. The only package depending on it
is woody (outliner/todo editor) which I also will orphan because
I don't use it any more.

IMO, we should just remove this package from the archive.

Bug#314996: O: woody

2005-06-19 Thread Tom Cato Amundsen
Package: wnpp
Severity: normal

I'm orphaning woody because I don't use it, and it has not been any
upstream activity since august 2000. It depends on python-slang that
I also have orphaned.

Woody is a hierarchical text editor/outliner. It allows you to group
related bits of information together into a common meaningful category.
It is similar to BrainForest for the Palm Pilot.

The program is ideal for maintaining TODO files. The program stores the
files in xml, but can export to plain text files.

I don't know any good replacements for woody. I liked it because it was
a console program and could be used fast and without a keyboard.

Don't know if you have tried gtodo?

Bug#372805: gawk 3.1.5.dfsg-4 breaks txt2man, 3.1.4-2 is ok

2006-06-11 Thread Tom Cato Amundsen
Package: gawk
Version: 1:3.1.5.dfsg-4
Severity: normal

Upgrading gawk to 3.1.5.dfsg-4 make txt2man generate bad output.
In the options section of the generated manpage, options should be
written like this:
.TP
.B
\-v, --version

but when gawk is upgraded to 3.1.5.dfsg-4, the following is generated:
.TP
.B
\\fB-v\fP, \fB--version\fP

I'm not sure if this bug belongs to txt2man or gawk, so you got it...

I'll try to improve the packaging in a few weeks, when there is less to
do at work. Lets hope the python-policy chaos settles down soon, because
the current state is very frustrating.

Please test solfege 3.5.2-0.1 from http://tcamundsen.net/testsolfege/

It includes code that adds the missing solfege.dirs file if we are
upgrading from a version where it is missing. Let me know if this works
ok.

First, do you still have the .deb for 3.0.6 lying around somewhere? For
example in /var/cache/apt/archives? If so, can you send it to me (no
need to cc the bts.)? I don't have the binary package around any longer,
and there are no guarantee that rebuilding the package create the exact
same package.

Does the file /usr/share/python-support/solfege.dirs exist?
If not, does it help if you create the file by running

# echo "/usr/share/solfege" > /usr/share/python-support/solfege.dirs

as root.

I am not sure what is causing this bug, but I think it is my fault doing
stupid things with python-support while trying to learn the new python
policy.
