Bug#900542: winbind: Can't upgrade winbind to 2:4.5.12+dfsg-2+deb9u2(stretch) or 2:4.7.4+dfsg-2(buster)

2018-05-31 Thread Tomoo Nomura
Package: winbind
Version: 2:4.7.4+dfsg-2
Severity: normal
Tags: a11y

Dear Maintainer,

When I try to apt-get upgrade, winbind can't complete its process.
There are some problems.

1) Launch script can't work
   error: /lib/security/pam_winbind.so not found.
   However, /lib/x86_64-linux-gnu/security/pam_winbind.so exists.

2) Post install script couldn't work and apt-get upgrade failed.
When samba-ad-dc was launched, winbind is already in process and the upgrade
script try to launch winbind duplicately and failed upgrade.

3) winbind vendor preset: enable
Samba-ad-dc launch winbind as its child. It means there is no need to launch
winbind again, should be disable.

I confirmed the problem in both stretch and buster (2018-05-31)

Bug#876119: thunderbird: Edit as New Message don't work correctly in case of non UTF encoding

2017-09-19 Thread Tomoo Nomura

Carsten,

I installed original thunderbird and check again. There is no problem.
Thus, it is a Debian specific problem.
After that, I uninstalled the original thunderbird and set up Debian
thunderbird again.

The odd thing is that the symptom has disappeared.

If the symptom appear again, I would report it again.
Please close it.

Thanks,
Tomoo

Hello,

Now, I can input Japanese characters by Ibus and Mozc without any problems.
This problem seems to be happen under some special conditions.
I recreated user newly and apt-upgrade, then it became to work fine.

I don't have any experiences with WAYLAND, but I am interested in it.
If you would like to involve me with WAYlAND, let me know.

Thanks,

Hi,

It seems some software are not compatible.

Please use standard GNOME and Debian provided software. I really can't

Bug#862465: installation-reports: stretch netboot can't recognize usb keyboard

2017-05-12 Thread Tomoo Nomura
Package: installation-reports
Severity: important
Tags: d-i

Dear Maintainer,

Stretch netboot installer can't recognize usb keyboard, while that of jessie
works fine.
I confirmed both i386 and amd64 have the same problem.
After the pc cought a dhcp server and the first installer screen was displayed,
nothing can be put in.

I installed Anthy(Japanese) and Latin-post(m17n) as well. When I can't
input Japanese, I can't also input any special Latin characters by
Latin-post. When it happened, keyboard shortcut, which changes input
method, can't work. I think these application are not caught by i-bus.

Dear Maintainer,

Access control, valid user = +group, can't work when using with open LDAP,
while it works fine with /etc/group.
For examples, user=nomura is a member of group named manager and mount [testmanager] from
another debian jessie machine. It shows "mount error(13): Permission denied ".

Shouldn't this be "valid users = @group"?

Both +group and @group make the same result.

Dear Maintainer,

while it works fine with /etc/group.
For examples, user=nomura is a member of group named manager and mount

smb.conf:

I checked the same case with /etc/passwd and /etc/group on another jessie
server, and found it works fine.

In addtion, replacing "valid users = +manager" by "valid users = nomura" avoids
the problem, works fine.

Bug#779178: pdftopdf does not handle the landscape option correctly

2015-03-08 Thread Tomoo Nomura

Brian,

My god!
The problem disappeared from current Jessie.
I'm not sure when it did disappear.

I try to degrade the system to cups_1.7.1-12_amd64.deb and related
packages, but I couldn't reproduce the problem.

Anyway, I tested on current Jessie.

1. *LandscapeOrientation: Plus90
  This made the problem.

2.*LandscapeOrientation: Minus90
  This made the desired result.

Regards,
Tomoo

PS. If I have to reproduce the problem, please tell me the exact
versions of the related packages which you could reproduce on Jessie.

Apologies for using a bug report as a platform for moaning. :)

May I point to

   https://github.com/smilingthax/pdfautorotate

and suggest there may be some connection between the present state of
affairs and the change introduced in cups-filters (1.0.25-1)?

Anyway:

   lp -d test -o landscape -o pdfAutoRotate=off file.pdf

gets me a printout rotated by 270 degrees.

It is possible there is further progress to be made on this issue. But,
Tomoo, we need your help to do so. As a start we need the PPD for the
printer you are using. If your print queue is named example the PPD
should be /etc/cups/ppd/example.ppd.

Please attach a copy to the next mail you send to the bug report.

Bug#779178: ghostscript: Landscape document rotate CCW not CW

2015-03-04 Thread Tomoo Nomura

Hello Brian,

They do indeed. On Jessie NOMURA is at the upper right-hand corner of
Yes,the page; on Wheezy it is at the lower left-hand corner. Correct?

Yes, it is.
When printing on an envelop, a tab for sticking area must be upper side
because of paper feed mechanism.

So, rotate direction is important.

Whether the difference between Wheezy and Jessie is a result of changes
in CUPS or cups-filters is unknown (to me) so I have included a CC to
the cups-filters maintainer.

Thank you. I'm waiting another maintainer will contact me.

You might be able to overcome your problem with orientation-required=5
in an lpoptions file.

OK, I try to find a solution using options file.

Thanks,
Tomoo

Wheezy machine and Jessie machine show different result.

Dear Maintainer,

When printing a landscape document from any application such as Libreoffice
writer, it is rotated to a portrait document.
From ealier version until Wheezy, it was rotated by clockwise(CW). However, in
case of Jessie, it is rotated by counter clockwise(CCW).
To print an address and name on an envelope, upper and bottom side are fixed.
Many already formed documents are assumed as rotating by CW.
To keep conpativility and avoid unnecessary maintenance of documents, landscape
document should rotate by CW.
I'm not sure the exact module, but I think pdftopdf owns the function which
might be reacently rewitten.

pdftopdf is part of cups-filters, not ghostscript.

Perhaps if you describe more detailed what to do to replicate the issue,
then others less familiar with the tool can help triangulate what is
going on. As an example, I have ghostscript and (some parts of)
LibreOffice installed, but not cups-filters, so if the flaw is in
cups-filters then obviously my replicating the steps would fail.

2014-12-09 Thread Tomoo Nomura
Package: squirrelmail
Version: 2:1.4.23~svn20120406-2

Dear Maintainer,
*** Please consider answering these questions, where appropriate ***

When login from squirrelmail to imap server, the server rejects the request due

The reason is that squirrelmail sents incorrect password to the server.
Squirrelmail gets the password through encryption and decryption. In a process

Bug#698673: printer-driver-cupsgutenprint: Epson printer can't print with Iceweasel, showing Rendering Completed

2013-01-21 Thread Tomoo Nomura
Package: printer-driver-cupsgutenprint
Version: printer-driver-gutenprint
Severity: normal

Dear Maintainer,
Iceweasel can't print some pages with Epson PM-G4500/PM-G850.
Cups status shows Redering Completed but nothing proceeds.

This symptom appears only with printer-driver-gutenprint/Epson PM-G4500
or PM-G850. I have another Brother printer, but I can print normaly.

Visit the site https://itc.lan.jp/web/login.php and just print it.

http://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=690344 and
http://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=674500 comitted
the similar problem is caused by gtk3 custom paper size.
I, however, found it occures reguler paper size such as A4 and only
with Epson printer.

Bug#674500: can't print to Epson PM-G850/G4500 with showing Rendering, completed

2013-01-01 Thread Tomoo Nomura
Recently, any documents can't be printed from Epson G4500 under iceweasel.
I changed the driver from Epson PM G4500 - CUPS+Gutenprint v5.2.7 to
Epson PM-G4500 - epson-inkjet-printer-escpr 1.2.0-1lsb3.2 (Seiko Epson
Corporation LSB 3.2) provided by Epson, and found it can be printed with
some minor problems. Thus, I suppose the problem might be caused by the
Guntenprint driver. Is it true ?

Bug#678083: This is IPA Font problem

2012-06-19 Thread Tomoo Nomura
I changed font settings to sazanami-mincho, sazanami-gothic, or
MS-mincho, MS-gothic (not a debian package) instead of IPA mincho, IPA
gothic, and found it disappeared.
It seems to be a IPA font related problem.
Would I better reopen a bug report to IPA font package ?

Bug#664031: Please check gstoraster

2012-06-08 Thread Tomoo Nomura
I have the same problem on Epson PM-G850/G4500. Please look at #674500.
When I changed the driver to Epson's original one, the message has
changed to /usr/lib/cups/filter/gstoraster failed.
I hope this message will help the solution.

Tomoo

Bug#674500: glabels: can't print to Epson PM-G850/G4500 with showing Rendering completed

2012-05-24 Thread Tomoo Nomura
Package: glabels
Version: 3.0.0-3
Severity: important

Dear Maintainer,

   * What led up to the situation?
When attempting to print, the print job is queued in cups and showing the
status rendering completed. It is lasting forever, never ends.

   * What exactly did you do (or not do) that was effective (or
 ineffective)?
Make a CD label image, choose Epson PM-G850 printer and press print
button.
Printing from other applications, iseweasel or libreoffice, seems no
problems.
I changed the driver to printer-driver-escpr from
printer-driver-gutenprint, cups shows different message
/usr/lib/cups/filetr/gstoraster failed.

   * What was the outcome of this action?
 It couldn't print anything.

   * What outcome did you expect instead?
Print the image on a CD media.

   * additional information
