Bug#1024778: libdmtx0b: Decoding takes very long time and fails on scanned DMTX code
Package: libdmtx0b Version: 0.7.5-3+b1 Severity: important X-Debbugs-Cc: w...@ise.pw.edu.pl Dear Maintainer, I have found a DMTX code which after printing and scanning causes dmtxread to freeze for a long time and finally fail. I attach three PNG files: 1. PNG extracted from PDF with the original code (without printing and scanning) - dmtx_orig.png 2. PNG printed and scanned with one resolution which decodes correctly - dmtx_scan_ok.png 3. PNG printed and scanned with another resolution - dmtx_scan_bad.png I have tested those codes with the Python scripts based on the pylibdmtx module. The results are the same, so I suppose that the problem is related to the underlying libdmtx0b library. -- System Information: Debian Release: bookworm/sid APT prefers testing APT policy: (500, 'testing') Architecture: amd64 (x86_64) Foreign Architectures: i386 Kernel: Linux 6.0.0-4-amd64 (SMP w/8 CPU threads; PREEMPT) Locale: LANG=pl_PL.UTF-8, LC_CTYPE=pl_PL.UTF-8 (charmap=UTF-8), LANGUAGE not set Shell: /bin/sh linked to /usr/bin/dash Init: systemd (via /run/systemd/system) LSM: AppArmor: enabled Versions of packages libdmtx0b depends on: ii libc6 2.36-5 libdmtx0b recommends no packages. libdmtx0b suggests no packages. -- no debconf information
Bug#809060: kde-plasma-desktop: KDE login screen freezes if left for a longer time in locked state
Package: kde-plasma-desktop Version: 5:90 Severity: important Dear Maintainer, When I leave my system for a longer time with locked KDE session, the kde login screen freezes. The clock displays the time, in which I tried to unlock it, but does not update any more (it displays the same time forever). The mouse pointer moves normally, but the password field does not get the input focus, so I can't enter the password. It is also not possible to press the "log in" button. The fingerprint scanner also does not unlock the session. When I switch to text console with e.g. CTRL+ALT+F1, I can log in (both with the password and with the fingerprint scanner). I can also start another X windows session from that console, so that's rather not a hardware related problem. Bug#808957: /usr/bin/ipetoipe: ipetoipe does not export in the EPS format any more
Package: ipe Version: 7.1.10-1 Severity: important File: /usr/bin/ipetoipe Dear Maintainer, Previous versions of the ipetoipe tool were able to export ipe files to EPS format. It was very useful for preparation of LaTeX documents, where vector graphics in the ".ipe" source format could be automatically converted into ".eps" format handled by the graphics package in LaTeX. It seems, that current version of ipetoipe supports only the XML .ipe format and the .pdf format. Bug#752767: tracker-extract: Program tracker-extract eat more cpu on start kde session
Package: tracker-extract Version: 1.4.0-3 Followup-For: Bug #752767 Dear Maintainer, I do understand, that: tracker-extract *does* require ressources to index your file system / home directory. However my point is, that I don't want it to index anything. I don't need this service. I don't want any system tools to index my files and I don't want to waste CPU power for it. The problem however is that I can't disable it any convenient way. I really want to disable it on the system level for all users without deinstalling it (as some useful packages depend on it). Of course I can rename the tracker-extract binary to tracker-extract.deleted (which will help until nearest upgrade of. I can run killall -9 tracker-extract every 10 minutes using cron. I can imagine many similar workarounds. The real problem is that even when I run tracker-preferences and removed all directories in Locations tab, it still gets started (and anyway I'd need to do it for all users individually).
