Bug#352585: w3m freezes while editing a form

2006-02-12 Thread Yann Forget
Package: w3m

I use VIM as editor:

Here is the end of the output of strace of the w3m process when it freezes:

rt_sigaction(SIGWINCH, {SIG_DFL}, NULL, 8) = 0

Bug#353856: konqueror's cache mix up with phpldapadmin

2006-02-21 Thread Yann Forget
Package: konqueror
Version: 4:3.5.1-1
Severity: normal

Hi,

Konqueror's cache is mixed up while using PhpLDAPadmin.
Data from a LDAP account is displayed in another account, and data sent when
commiting changes is wrong.
This renders Konqueror unusable for this task.

This problem doesn't appear with Firefox on the same machine.

PhpLDAPadmin is on a Debian server:

This makes the setup confusing and error prone.

Hi,

Hi,

This is still an annoying problem with OO0 2.0.
Copy-paste characters with accents from KDE gives
(Control-C, Control-V) :

"La partie système est composée de 2 disques de 80 Go en RAID 1. La partie

de 250 Go en RAID 5."

instead of

"La partie système est composée de 2 disques de 80 Go en RAID 1. La partie
données est composée de 6 disques de 2
50 Go en RAID 5."

Using the mouse works (select with left button, copying with middle button).

Well, doesn't seem obvious to me. These "segfault" bugs anyway always
look similar.

Ok.

I actually don't understand what exactly you mean by "when using
Swat". What are the successive actions to reproduce the bug.

This error message occurs every time smb.conf is changed using SWAT.

It is reproducible ?

It seems so. The bug has appeared several times.

If so, can you install the samba-dbg package and
reproduce it again.

Also, please try to update to 3.0.22-1 which is in testing. I know
that updating a production server may not be trivial but that'd help
figuring out whether the bug is still there.

Ok, I will try that.

Thanks,
Yann

Ok, it may not be related to OOo Writer.
It was a file over a NFS share, so upgrading nfs-common solved the problem.

Well, it is a KDE bug, see http://www.kdedevelopers.org/node/1901
and http://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=115891

Beside, it's a very serious bug as CUPS can't be downgraded without
removing KDE because of cascading dependencies.

Best regards,

Yann

Bug#363273: bacula should be able to schedule commands in advance

2006-04-18 Thread Yann Forget
Package: bacula
Severity: wishlist

Hi,

It is not possible to issue some commands (label or relabel a tape, etc.) while
the system is doing a backup.
So when the backups take time, no command can be sent to the system.
It seems therefore quite necessary to be able to send commands to be executed
later, after the current backup finishes.

Thanks,

Package: bacula

Hi,

Bacula breaks down while sending "loaded drive 0" parameter, so several comands
fail.

Thanks,

It seems that Bacula doesn't find a tape in the drive.
There is however a tape in the drive.
The command works ok manually with /etc/bacula/scripts/mtx-changer

Bug#339314: /usr/sbin/smbldap-useradd: Lots of Perl errors with various commands from smbldap-tools

2005-12-08 Thread Yann Forget

Hi,

These errors come from undefined variables.
Some values are necessary, although they are not in the default
configuration file (/etc/smbldap-tools/smbldap.conf) and this is not
mentioned in the documentation (i.e. smbldap-useradd man page) where it
is written that only the login is compulsory.

There are:
* scope (scope="sub" seems is good default value to me)
* defaultUserGid (defaultUserGid="513" is the default gid for a Samba
domain users)

* gecos; I added in /usr/sbin/smbldap-useradd:

$config{userGecos} = $userName if (!defined($config{userGecos}));

* gid for Computer's accounts; I added in
/usr/share/perl5/smbldap_tools.pm the default gid for a Samba computer
account is 515:

$gid=515 if (!$gid);

> sub add_posix_machine
>  {
>my ($user,$uid,$gid,$wait) = @_;
>$gid=515 if (!$gid);
>if (!defined $wait) {
>$wait=0;
>}

Another possibility is to make these values compulsory (documentation
needs to be changed and the script should exit with a message if the
value is not given as an argument).

BTW, tabbing is quite strange in /usr/share/perl5/smbldap_tools.pm

Yann

Hmmm are you sure that you can use a "MediaTape" keyword in that
*resource* (see Bacula's online documentation)

Did you read what I wrote?

However in the examples of bacula-dir.conf, there are:
# Media Type = DDS-4 # must be same as MediaType in Storage daemon
and
#  MediaType = "8mm"

So I just copied the examples.

Bug#333505: devices: locking devices, can't umount devices

2005-10-12 Thread Yann Forget
Package: konqueror
Version: 4:3.3.2-1
Severity: important

Hi,

In devices, Konqueror locks devices, can't umount CDROM or USB key.
That's very annoying for non expert sysadmins (closing Konqueror
and/or umount -l required). No problem with Nautilus or manually on the same
system.

Extract of "strace konqueror >konq.log" (not sure if that's useful, I can
provide
other tests if necessary).

Thanks,
Yann

Bug#338788: kcontrol (keyboard layout): AltGr doesn't work when enabling keyboard layouts

2005-11-12 Thread Yann Forget
Package: kcontrol
Version: 4:3.4.2-4
Severity: normal

Hi,

AltGr key doesn't work when enabling keyboard layouts with X.org and French
keyboard (azerty) in /etc/X11/xorg.conf (works ok with XFree86 with
/etc/X11/XF86Config-4).
No problem if the option "Enable keyboard layouts" is desactivated.
No problem also with other window managers and X.org.
Also trying to load my personal keymap doesn't change anything (xmodmap
.Xmodmap).
So no characters ~#{[|[EMAIL PROTECTED] anymore if I want to use several
keymaps in KDE.

This is not a supported parameter in Samba 3.0 (it was used in the
--with-ldapsam option in samba 2.2).

Then how to specify the ldap port?

Where was this documented (this is at most a documentation bug,
otherwise it needs to be marked done).

It is probably anyway, as the man page of smb.conf doesn't mention that
this option is not supported in Samba 3.0.

This does not give too much information:

- Does this bug show also on the latest version of the package?

Yes, see the other bug report I made (#339314).
This can probably be marked as duplicate.

- Are you sure that the problem is not on your configuration?

I think my configuration is right.

# cat /etc/smbldap-tools/smbldap.conf

  The messages are not clear and probably the program must be more robust, but
  the first message seems related to the fact that you don't have the ldapTLS
  value defined on the configuration file (the latest version of the package
  works OK if you don't define it, but the sarge version don't).

Thanks,

Yann
