Bug#934542: Init script doesn't source /etc/default/memcached

2019-08-12 Thread Yevgeny Kosarzhevsky
Package: memcached
Version: 1.5.6-1.1

init script /etc/init.d/memcached does not source /etc/default/memcached
As a result, directory for memcached socket cannot be created without
modifying /etc/init.d/memcached

I use /etc/default/memcached to create socker directory:

[ ENABLE_MEMCACHED=yes ] && install -d -o memcache -g memcache -m 0777
/run/memcached

Bug#889709: Package update caused hard drive failure

2018-02-06 Thread Yevgeny Kosarzhevsky
Package: intel-microcode
Version: 3.20180108.1+really20171117.1

Hello,

I have updated system recently and intel-microcode was updated 3.20180108.1
-> 3.20180108.1+really20171117.1 and it caused following issue with my hard
drive.
These messages were appearing every few seconds and after a while the
system has been getting hung. The issue repeated multipl times.
I have rolled back intel-microcode and iucode-tool to previous versions and
it is back to normal now.

Bug#835231: kmod: blacklisted modules are ignored

2016-08-23 Thread Yevgeny Kosarzhevsky
Package: kmod
Version: 22-1.1
Severity: important

Dear Maintainer,

I have run as root the following commands:
echo "blacklist snd_hda_intel_codec_hdmi" >
/etc/modprobe.d/snd-hda-intel-codec-hdmi.blacklist.conf
update-initramfs -u
reboot

After reboot I find snd_hda_intel_codec_hdmi in lsmod output

The expected behaviour would be to have the module unlisted in lsmod after
rebooting the system.
Thanks.

valgrind shows the same output you've posted, there is no segfault and no
sound.
Yes the ogg file is from kde-runtime-data, but I am getting the same result
with file from oxygen-sounds

I am using testing/sid packages on my system mostly. All packages related
to vorbis-tools are either from sid or from testing branches (see initial
report). Here are versions of packages which provide sound files:

~$ dpkg -l kde-runtime-data oxygen-sounds |grep ii
ii kde-runtime-data 4:16.04.3-1 all shared data files for the
KDE base runtime module
ii oxygen-sounds4:5.7.0-1all Sounds for the Oxygen
desktop theme

  Dear Maintainer,

I am unable to send mails through sylpheed while it's checking for new
messages. The dialog comes up saying it's not possible.

I don't remember such dialog now. What's the exact wording of that dialog? (a
 screenshot is also OK)

As I am not MSDOS version user, I would expect it will queue mail and will
send it immediately or at the earliest possibility.

Sylpheed has a Send later button next to the Send one, which allows this.

You have to decide when it's the earliest possibility though, and press the
Send queued messages in main window. Is that good enough for you?

  Dear Maintainer,

After recent upgrade I cannot keep laptop on while lid is closed. It
 goes in
sleep mode regardless of energy saving settings. I use 'Lock screen' but
now whenever I close the lid, system goes to sleep mode. Confirmed on two
  running laptops.

Do you have sysvinit-core or systemd-sysv installed? you have either one or
the other, not the two of them.

If you have sysvinit-core then the problem lies on systemd-shim which it
 still
does not supports some systemd features.

If you have systemd-sysv then we might have found a bug.

  Dear Maintainer,
  I get a heavy load on irq/23-eth0:

But you are not comparing like with like. On a real-time kernel, IRQ
handlers are scheduled as tasks and are accounted in the load average.
On a standard kernel as you were running before, IRQ handlers are
 accounted separately.

So, is there really a problem here? Did you actually mean to install a
 real-time kernel?

Since there was a packet loss, I think there is a problem. I don't know if it's

2012-03-26 Thread Yevgeny Kosarzhevsky
Package: plasma-widgets-workspace

Bug#548827: debian-installer: Daily build installed ok but failed booting (raid10+lvm+aes)

2009-09-28 Thread Yevgeny Kosarzhevsky
Package: debian-installer
Severity: normal

I was using following configuration:
/dev/md0 - raid10 (/dev/sd[bcde]1) - lvm group
/dev/md1 - raid0 (/dev/sd[de]2) - /boot ext2
/dev/md2 - raid0 (/dev/sd[de]3) - /srv xfs

I've created volumes in lvm:
1 - / - xfs encryped with loop-aes gpgkey
2 - swap encrypted with loop-aes random

I've been able to install the system, but after that no boot occured - I've got
(initramfs) prompt.
Mounting /dev/md0 on /root gives 'no such file or directory'

Using netinst daily build from 28-Sep-09

Bug#530936: network-manager-kde: OpenVPN fails to start

2009-09-15 Thread Yevgeny Kosarzhevsky
Package: network-manager-kde
Version: 1:0.8~svn1013816-1
Severity: normal

I have added openvpn connection, however when I click with mouse on it, it
won't do anything.

I have noticed also that adding TLS auth key has no effect as next time I go to
properties, ta.key isn't listed.

Another problem is that I need to specify tun-mtu, mssfix and fragment options

Bug#526335: psi locks up on writing a message

2009-05-15 Thread Yevgeny Kosarzhevsky
I have the same behavior after upgrading to KDE4 from Squeeze. There was
no issue on KDE3 from lenny. I have tried also to start with clean
profile. I have recent aspell installed.

However removing spelling checker avoided that situation.

Bug#510924: closed by Andreas Henriksson andr...@fatal.se (Bug#510924: fixed in iproute 20090324-1)

2009-04-01 Thread Yevgeny Kosarzhevsky

Hi,

shouldn't that fix be included in Lenny fix, as they are using libxt
already?

Otherwise iproute2 remains broken in Lenny

Bug#510924: iproute: tc fails on action ipt

2009-01-07 Thread Yevgeny Kosarzhevsky
Well it isn't working though, I've tried that on both PCs I have, both
running fresh lenny/sid, amd64 and i386 respectively:

r...@warp:~# export IPTABLES_LIB_DIR=/lib/xtables
r...@warp:~# tc filter add dev lo parent : protocol ip prio 10 u32
match u32 0 0 flowid 1:1 action ipt -j MARK --set-mark 1 action mirred
egress redirect dev eth0

/lib/xtables/libxt_MARK.so: undefined symbol: mark
failed to find target MARK

bad action parsing
parse_action: bad value (11:ipt)!
Illegal action

Yevgeny - It should work since you have a newer iptables

i.e follow what i did. If it fails - please post the steps you did
(dont forget to export IPTABLES_LIB_DIR first so it can be seen by
ipt)

cheers,
jamal

Bug#510924: iproute: tc fails on action ipt

2009-01-05 Thread Yevgeny Kosarzhevsky
Package: iproute
Version: 20080725-2
Severity: important

Seems iproute has been built against old version of iptables:

warp:~# tc filter add dev ppp0 parent : protocol ip prio 10 u32 \
   match u32 0 0 flowid 1:1 \
   action ipt -j MARK --set-mark 1 \
action mirred egress redirect dev ifb0
/lib/iptables/libipt_mark.so: cannot open shared object file: No such file or
directory
failed to find target MARK
warp:~# find /lib -name *mark.so
/lib/ebtables/libebt_mark.so
/lib/xtables/libxt_connmark.so
/lib/xtables/libxt_mark.so
warp:~# iptables -V
iptables v1.4.1.1

The reply from iproute developer Jamal Hadi Salim h...@cyberus.ca was:

Upgrade to latest iproute2 - probably from git tree which should fix
this in the following commit:

commit 53c017880b311d7d68926109d4248c900286f6b7
Author: Denys Fedoryshchenko nuclear...@nuclearcat.com

iptables compatiablity

New iptables 1.4.0 has some library names changed from libipt to
libxt.
It is prefferable also to open libxt_ first, as newer style.
