Bug#1071552: gnupg: Please upgrade GnuPG >= 2.4.4, current GnuPG break Emacs's EasyPG

2024-05-20 Thread Youhei SASAKI
Package: gnupg
Version: 2.2.43-6
Severity: critical

Dear Maintainer,

Current GnuPG package, version 2.2.43, brek Emacs's EasyPG.
We are no longer able to store encrypted files completely.

Well-kown issue: https://github.com/emacs-mirror/emacs/blob/master/etc/PROBLEMS
--- quote ---
*** Saving a file encrypted with GnuPG via EasyPG hangs.

This is known to happen with GnuPG v2.4.1. The only known workaround
is to downgrade to a version of GnuPG older than 2.4.1, or upgrade to
version 2.4.4 and newer, which reportedly solves the problem. Note
that GnuPG v2.2.42 and later also has this problem, so you should also
avoid those later 2.2.4x versions; v2.2.41 is reported to work fine.
--- quote ---

See also https://dev.gnupg.org/T6481

Please upgrade GnuPG >= 2.4.4 or newer.

Bug#1071372: FYI: downgrade gnupg 2.2.40 or upgrade 2.4.4 or later

2024-05-20 Thread Youhei SASAKI
Hi,

This issue is well-known problem gpg >= 2.4.1,
https://git.savannah.gnu.org/cgit/emacs.git/commit/?h=emacs-29&id=1b9812af80b6ceec8418636dbf84c0fbcd3ab694

*** Saving, via EasyPG, a file encrypted with GnuPG hangs

This is known to happen with GnuPG v2.4.1. The only known workaround
is to downgrade to a version of GnuPG older than 2.4.1 (or, in the
future, upgrade to a newer version which solves the problem, when such
a fixed version becomes available)
-- quote --

And https://github.com/emacs-mirror/emacs/blob/master/etc/PROBLEMS,

-- quote --
*** Saving a file encrypted with GnuPG via EasyPG hangs.

This is known to happen with GnuPG v2.4.1. The only known workaround

Unfortunately, Debian's gnupg was upgrade 2.2.43 on May, 13.
As a result, it is no longer possible to save files using easypg.

Current workarounds are
1: Upgrade gnupg to >= 2.4.4. For example, use experimental packages (the
version of these packages is 2.4.5).
2: Downgrade to gnupg <= 2.2.40 and keep it.
3: If you do not use symmetric ciphers, apply the epg.el workaround patch, see
https://dev.gnupg.org/T6481.

BTW, I have sent a bug report requesting an upgrade to gnupg >= 2.4.4.

Best wishes,
Youhei

more clear and identifiable, the letterforms are simplified by omitting
hane (hook) and geta (the vertical lines extending beyond horizontal
strokes at the bottom of kanji). Counters and other spaces are finely
adjusted so that the overall balance of the type is not impaired even
with the use in relatively large size. The kana are made slightly
smaller than the kanji to give a good rhythm and flow when setting long

As you said, the kanjix.map generated here is a configuration file for
dvipdfmx. From previous versions, pxdvi uses this kanjix.map file as the
font configuration file. This means that pxdvi will not have a font
configuration file. This is the desired behavior that the fonts embedded
in the final generated PDF file will be the same as the fonts used for
display in pxdvi.

If you want to separate the pxdvi and dvipdfmx settings, you need to
take the following steps:

(1) Set pxdviUse=true in updmap-sys:

 updmap-sys --setoption pxdviUse=true

(2) Set the appropriate font in kanji-config-updmap-sys

(3) Modify /etc/texmf/dvips/xdvi/config.xdvi to load xdvi-ptex.map
generated by the above command instead of kanjix.map

(...BTW. I think it is better to change the location of this file...)

Confirmed. Excuse me, I might misunderstand too.

  xdvi.bin: Warning: FreeType2: Open Font Error (d). Error code = 1
xdvi.bin: Warning: FreeType2: Open Font Error (OV). Error code = 1

I have specified fonts such as Ryumin-Light and GothicBBB-Medium in
fontconifg, but pxdvi doesn't seem to find the corresponding fonts.
Of course, if I specify a specific font with kanji-config-updmap{,-sys},
there is no problem with the display (as you reported).

Did you have no problems with previous versions?

Best Regards,
Youhei

Bug#993597: xdvik-ja: fails to show Japanese characters

2021-09-04 Thread Youhei SASAKI
Package: xdvik-ja
Version: 22.87.05+j1.42-2
Tags: confirmed

Thanks to your report.

Until Buster, the "kanjix.map" was provided by "texlive-base"
package. However, it seems that this file is not provided after
bullseye.

The generation and management of the "kanjix.map" file is done by
"kanji-config-updmap{-sys,-user}" along with setup of other tools, so
please try to invoke this command.

Hmmm...

However, I need a dependency on texlive-lang-japanese to run this
command. This will be added.

Also, the dependency on e.g., Rumin-Light that you suggested is already
configured in /etc/ghostscript/cidfmap.d/90gs-cjk-resource-japan1.conf
provided by poppler-data, so I'll add this dependency as well.

Best regards.
Youhei

Bug#908800: nautilus: can't use nautilus without tracker

2018-09-13 Thread Youhei SASAKI
Package: nautilus
Version: 3.30.0-4
Severity: grave

Dear Maintainer,

* What led up to the situation?

I can't use nautilus without tracker:

  % nautilus

domain ontology rule /usr/share/tracker/domain-ontologies/default.rule

But nautilus dependencies said...
  ...
  Suggests: eog, evince | pdf-viewer, nautilus-extension-brasero,
nautilus-sendto, totem | mp3-decoder, tracker, xdg-user-dirs
  ...

So, nautilus should "Depends" tracker, not "Suggests".

Best Wishes,
Youhei

Description : A faster pure Ruby implementation of Pathname with extra

Pathutil tries to be a faster pure Ruby impelementation of Pathname.
It arose out of a need to fix basic problems with Pathname, such as
suscepetibility to join overrides, need for automatic encoding, and
normalization (for stuff like Jekyll) and the ability to do other
safe-style operations in an encapsulated format, like copying files and
folders with symlinks but only if they originate from the given root.

Bug#856907: release.debian.org: unblock reuest: cmigemo_1.2+gh20150404-2

2017-03-05 Thread Youhei SASAKI
Package: release.debian.org
Severity: normal

Dear release manager,

Current "migemo-el" in Stretch, provided by cmigemo, uses obsolete
function "isearch-word".

When we use this package with Emacs <= 24, it's Ok.
But we can't use this package with Emacs >= 25 completely.

In stretch, default emacs is version 24, but we also provide emacs25.

I create cherry-picked version from upstream changes.
Please consider unblock, include new version into stretch.

debdiff attached.
Best Wishes,
Youhei

2017-02-28 Thread Youhei SASAKI
Package: texlive-lang-japanese
Version: 2016.20170123-3
Severity: serious

Dear Norbert,

Two scripts, /usr/bin/kanji-config-updmap{,-sys}, are not provided
because of "debian/scripts.lst" doesn't follow upstream renaming:
jfontmaps -> ptex-fontmaps.

As you know, these scripts are very important for Japanese TeX users.
Please upload fixed version, and consider send unblock request.

Tiny patch attached.

Best Wishes,
Youhei

2016-11-20 Thread Youhei SASAKI
Package: yaskkserv

Dear Maintainer,

1. This version provide "yaskkserv.service", but missing Build-Depends
   "libsystemd-dev", need /usr/include/systemd/sd-daemon.h

Thus this daemon does not provide the feature of systemd socket activation.

2. The "yaskkerv.service" provided this version depends
"yaskkserv.socket". But "yaskkserv.socket" was not privided.

3. In systemd Unit file, we can't use shell expression.
If you parse shell expression, use /bin/sh as follows:

  ExecStart=/bin/sh -c ". /etc/default/yaskkserv; exec

But I see, it's too late.

2014-12-10 Thread Youhei SASAKI
Package: release.debian.org
Severity: normal
User: release.debian@packages.debian.org
Usertags: unblock

Dear release team, please unblock cmigemo 1:1.2+gh0.20140306-5.

The change from 1:1.2+gh0.20140306-4 (current jessie) to
1:1.2+gh0.20140306-5 is only default settings, as follows:
+ add two variables into default settings,
/etc/emacs/site-start.d/50migemo-el:
 (setq migemo-isearch-min-length 2)
 (setq migemo-use-frequent-pattern-alist nil)

These two variables fix migemo + isearch error reported #772786.

I attached debdiff output.

Best Wishes,

FastImage does this minimal fetch for image types GIF, JPEG, PNG, TIFF,

ImageScience (which relies on FreeImage). You only need supply the uri,

Yes.

I don't want/recommend.

Because other software depends Jekyll may potentially depend Launchy. We
provides rubygems-integration, thus, we should provides completely
dependecies. Or we create/provide new abstraction layer in order to
resolve dependencies and use xdg-open directly.

Again, we should provides ruby-launchy package.

Now I check current package and upstream repository. It's difficult for
me to introduce backward compatibility layer. So I agree revert. But I
don't know procedure. How do I revert? with epoch? or create new package
like ruby-tilt-1.4?

I agree deeply. sorry again.

Thanks. I'll fix it.

We don't provide auto-mode-alist in 50howm.el, and upstream provide
auto-mode-alist in howm-misc.el. Thus I follow upstream manner.
