Bug#550335: kweather: Several weather stations are missing from the KDE 4 version

2009-10-09 Thread Zoltan Ivanfi
Package: kweather

Version: 4:4.3.1-1

Severity: normal

Hi,

The Weather widget in KDE 3 was able to show all weather stations
from

weather.noaa.gov, but the KDE 4 version only allows some. For example
Budapest,

Hungary is now not available, although data is here:

http://weather.noaa.gov/weather/current/LHBP.html

http://weather.noaa.gov/pub/data/observations/metar/stations/LHBP.TXT

Thanks,

Zoltan

Bug#495960: [php5] PHP gets stuck after executing code

2008-08-21 Thread Zoltan Ivanfi
Package: php5
Severity: important

--- Please enter the report below this line. ---

Hi,

On our server, PHP gets stuck after executing the source file, both CLI
and run from Apache. The code is run correctly, but after it PHP (and
the Apache process with it) can not exit. It even happens with an empty
source, like "echo | php". Using strace I tracked down the problem to a
futex() call, but I don't know how could I fix it. Please see the
result of the following command attached:

echo | strace php 2>php-strace.log

It's a 64-bit system, if that matters. (I'm afraid it does...)

Any advice?

Thanks,

Zoltan

Bug#342664: gparted: using mkdosfs creates unbootable filesystems

2005-12-09 Thread Zoltan Ivanfi
Package: gparted
Version: 0.0.8-1
Severity: important

Hi,

After setting up my partitions with gparted, I tried to install WinXP. WinXP
failed to boot with the error message "NTLDR is missing". After numerous retries
with slight changes and no success, I have found the answer in the README file
of the package ms-sys:

  There have been reports about unbootable FAT32 partitions created with
"mformat
  -F c:". One workaround is to use gnu parted to create the partition instead.

I recreated the FAT partition with parted and finally managed to install WinXP.

After this I have discovered that the BUGS section of man mkdosfs mentions:

   mkdosfs can not create bootable filesystems. This isn't as easy as you
   might think at first glance for various reasons and has been discussed
   a lot already. mkdosfs simply will not support it ;)

I think gparted should use parted's method to create FAT filesystems instead of
using mkdosfs.

Thanks,

Zoltan

Bug#333664: gnucash: discards fractions even if smallest fraction of commodity is set

2005-10-13 Thread Zoltan Ivanfi
Package: gnucash

Hi,

Steps to reproduce bug:

Start with a blank file and create two accounts with the following settings:

Commodity: HUF (Hungarian Forint)
Smallest Fraction: 1/100

Enter a transaction to transfer 1.23 between the two accounts. The value will be
rounded to 1.00.

Bug#315655: polipo: No Host header in request sent to parent proxy

2005-06-24 Thread Zoltan Ivanfi
Package: polipo
Version: 0.9.8-1
Severity: important

Hi,

If I set the parent proxy and try to open a web page, I get the following
response from the parent proxy:

  400 Bad Request
  Error occurred:

  No Host header found in HTTP/1.1 request

For a quick check, I have set the parent proxy to localhost:9000 and then in one
terminal I issued "nc -l -p 9000", while in another "http_proxy=localhost:8123
wget http://www.example.com/";. Indeed, the Host header is missing from result:

Bug#301034: matchbox: icon captions are not shown on desktop nor in menu

2005-04-21 Thread Zoltan Ivanfi
Hi,

I decided to inspect this problem in the code, but to my surprise,
everything works well if I compile the source myself. I didn't use any
special options. I can even build the packages from the exact same
package source and they will be OK. I did this:

# apt-get build-dep matchbox-desktop
$ apt-get source matchbox-desktop
$ cd matchbox-desktop-0.9.1
$ debuild
# dpkg -i matchbox-desktop_0.9.1-1_i386.deb

And the captions are not missing any more on the desktop. The same with
matchbox-panel fixes the menus.

So the error is not in the library but in the applications, and is not
in the source but in the binaries. Maybe the problem would go away if
you were releasing a new version without modifying anything.

Bye,

Zoltan

Bug#305322: gwget: Proxy environment variable for wget is incorrect

2005-04-19 Thread Zoltan Ivanfi
Package: gwget
Version: 0.94-1
Severity: important
Tags: patch

Hi,

When I tried to use my machine's proxy, I got an "unknown error" message.
I captured wget's output:

  Error parsing proxy URL localhost:8080: Unsupported scheme.

I inspected the environment variables set for wget, and I got:

  http_proxy=localhost:8080

The correct setting would be:

  http_proxy=http://localhost:8080/

If the URL contains a dot, then wget won't complain, this is why this error
normally doesn't show up.

This is the line that sets http_proxy (reformatted for readability):

gwget_data.c:423: setenv("http_proxy",
 g_strconcat(g_strdup_printf("%s",
gwget_pref.http_proxy),
 ":",
 g_strdup_printf("%d",
gwget_pref.http_proxy_port),
 NULL),
 1);

The calls to g_strdup_printf (and probably g_strconcat too, I haven't checked
that) are leaking memory here and are just making the code complicated, this
line could simply be (with the http:// prefix added):

gwget_data.c:423: setenv("http_proxy",
 g_strdup_printf("http://%s:%d/";,
 gwget_pref.http_proxy,
 gwget_pref.http_proxy_port),
 1);

Thanks,

Zoltan

Bug#301034: matchbox: icon captions are not shown on desktop nor in menu

2005-03-29 Thread Zoltan Ivanfi
Hi,

> What X server are you using?

Previously I've tried it with Xnest and VNC. Both had the problem. Now I
have tried it with a real X server (xserver-xfree86) and it works! The
captions are missing only on VNC and Xnest servers.

ii  xserver-xfree86   4.3.0.dfsg.1-10   the XFree86 X server
ii xnest 4.3.0.dfsg.1-10 nested X server

> Do other applications using XFT or Pango fonts work?

Yes, they do.

> What version of libmatchbox1 do you have installed?

ii libmatchbox1 1.5-2 shared library for Matchbox
Project applications [runtime]

Bye,

Zoltan

Bug#301034: matchbox: icon captions are not shown on desktop nor in menu

2005-03-23 Thread Zoltan Ivanfi
Package: matchbox
Version: 1:2
Severity: important

Hi,

Starting with the 0.9 series, matchbox no longer shows any captions for me.
(See attached screenshot.) Reinstalling 0.8 solves the problem.

Thanks,

Zoltan
