Bug#478017: A possible cause for the segfault
As noted in my previous mail, the patch included in it fixes the segfault. However, running mayavi2 produces the following gtk warning which might be relevant: (python:16054): Gtk-CRITICAL **: gtk_widget_set_colormap: assertion `!GTK_WIDGET_REALIZED (widget)' failed Putting debug printfs around the line scene = DecoratedScene(parent) In the patch, shows that the gtk warning is triggered by that line. I think the segfault is caused by the same bug that produces this gtk warning, since the warning is about such a 'twiddling a widget that is not fully initialized' situation. I assume the warning itself is reproducible for others, since it is mentioned in debian bug no. 478844 (http://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=478844) Daniel Abel [EMAIL PROTECTED] -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] with a subject of unsubscribe. Bug#480655: gnome-keyboard-properties: after setting 'caps lock' key to behave as additional ctrl, caps lock led still used to show caps lock status
Package: gnome-control-center Version: 1:2.22.1-1 Severity: minor Under 'ctrl key position' I set 'make capslock an addition ctrl'. The key itself works fine, it is functioning as a ctrl. The caps lock led, however, still operates as if it were a caps lock key. I.e. if I press caps lock key, it is turned on, if I press it again, it is turned off. If I use the 'swap ctrl and capslock' then the keys function correctly, the caps lock led, however will be set according to the physical caps lock key (and not the physical ctrl key, which with this setting is actually functioning as the caps lock key.) -- System Information: Debian Release: lenny/sid APT prefers testing APT policy: (900, 'testing') Architecture: amd64 (x86_64) Kernel: Linux 2.6.22-3-amd64 (SMP w/2 CPU cores) Locale: LANG=en_US.UTF-8, LC_CTYPE=en_US.UTF-8 (charmap=UTF-8) Shell: /bin/sh linked to /bin/bash Versions of packages gnome-control-center depends on: ii capplets-data 1:2.22.1-1 configuration applets for GNOME 2 ii desktop-file-util 0.15-1 Utilities for .desktop files ii gnome-desktop-dat 2.22.1-1 Common files for GNOME 2 desktop a ii gnome-icon-theme 2.22.0-1 GNOME Desktop icon theme ii gnome-menus 2.22.1-1 an implementation of the freedeskt ii gnome-settings-da 2.22.1-1 GNOME settings daemon ii libart-2.0-2 2.3.20-1 Library of functions for 2D graphi ii libatk1.0-0 1.22.0-1 The ATK accessibility toolkit ii libbonobo2-0 2.22.0-1 Bonobo CORBA interfaces library ii libbonoboui2-02.22.0-1 The Bonobo UI library ii libc6 2.7-10 GNU C Library: Shared libraries ii libcairo2 1.4.14-1 The Cairo 2D vector graphics libra ii libdbus-1-3 1.2.1-2simple interprocess messaging syst ii libdbus-glib-1-2 0.74-2 simple interprocess messaging syst ii libebook1.2-9 2.22.1-1 Client library for evolution addre ii libfontconfig12.5.0-2generic font configuration library ii libfreetype6 2.3.5-1+b1 FreeType 2 font engine, shared lib ii libgconf2-4 2.22.0-1 GNOME configuration database syste ii libglade2-0 1:2.6.2-1 library to load .glade files at ru ii libglib2.0-0 2.16.1-2 The GLib library of C routines ii libgnome-desktop- 2.22.1-1 Utility library for loading .deskt ii libgnome-menu22.22.1-1 an implementation of the freedeskt ii libgnome-window-s 1:2.22.1-1 Utility library for getting window ii libgnome2-0 2.20.1.1-1 The GNOME 2 library - runtime file ii libgnomecanvas2-0 2.20.1.1-1 A powerful object-oriented display ii libgnomekbd2 2.22.0-1 GNOME library to manage keyboard c ii libgnomekbdui22.22.0-1 User interface library for libgnom ii libgnomeui-0 2.20.1.1-1 The GNOME 2 libraries (User Interf ii libgnomevfs2-01:2.22.0-2 GNOME Virtual File System (runtime ii libgstreamer-plug 0.10.19-1 GStreamer libraries from the base ii libgstreamer0.10- 0.10.19-3 Core GStreamer libraries and eleme ii libgtk2.0-0 2.12.9-2 The GTK+ graphical user interface ii libhal1 0.5.11~rc2-1 Hardware Abstraction Layer - share ii libice6 2:1.0.4-1 X11 Inter-Client Exchange library ii libmetacity0 1:2.22.0-1 library of lightweight GTK2 based ii libnautilus-exten 2.20.0-3 libraries for nautilus components ii liborbit2 1:2.14.12-0.1 libraries for ORBit2 - a CORBA ORB ii libpanel-applet2- 2.20.3-3 library for GNOME Panel applets ii libpango1.0-0 1.20.2-2 Layout and rendering of internatio ii libpixman-1-0 0.10.0-1 pixel-manipulation library for X a ii libpng12-01.2.27-1 PNG library - runtime ii libpopt0 1.10-3 lib for parsing cmdline parameters ii libslab0 0.9.8.svn.20070430-1.1 beautification app library file ii libsm62:1.0.3-1+b1 X11 Session Management library ii libstartup-notifi 0.9-1 library for program launch feedbac ii libx11-6 2:1.0.3-7 X11 client-side library ii libxcursor1 1:1.1.9-1 X cursor management library ii libxft2 2.1.12-2 FreeType-based font drawing librar ii libxklavier12 3.5-1 X Keyboard Extension high-level AP ii libxml2 2.6.32.dfsg-2 GNOME XML library ii libxrandr22:1.2.2-1 X11 RandR extension library ii libxrender1 1:0.9.4-1 X Rendering Extension client libra ii libxss1
Bug#475697: 'aptitude safe-upgrade' needs multiple runs to upgrade everything
On Sat, Apr 12, 2008 at 07:10:31AM -0700, Daniel Burrows wrote: Could you test with the version in unstable and verify that this fixes your problem? Since then version 0.4.11.2-1 arrived in lenny, and I didn't experience this bug during safe-updating in the last two weeks. I can't really test in the original situation (I don't know how to reproduce aptitude's inner state) but I think this bug can be closed now. Bug#478017: mayavi2 crashes instantly on startup
Package: mayavi2 Version: 2.1.1-2 Severity: grave Justification: renders package unusable A few days ago mayavi2 worked fine. Now, however, running $ mayavi2 crashes instantly: the gui window appears, but right after that gnome's bug buddy appears. The not-too-informative crash output is attached. This might be related to the fact that I upgraded (with 'aptitude safe-upgrade') recently. -- System Information: Debian Release: lenny/sid APT prefers testing APT policy: (900, 'testing') Architecture: amd64 (x86_64) Kernel: Linux 2.6.22-3-amd64 (SMP w/2 CPU cores) Locale: LANG=en_US.UTF-8, LC_CTYPE=en_US.UTF-8 (charmap=UTF-8) Shell: /bin/sh linked to /bin/bash Versions of packages mayavi2 depends on: ii libc62.7-10 GNU C Library: Shared libraries ii python 2.4.4-6 An interactive high-level object-o ii python-central 0.6.5 register and build utility for Pyt ii python-enthought-traits 2.0.4-2 Manifest typing and reactive progr ii python-enthought-traits-ui 2.0.4-2 User interface related modules for ii python-numpy 1:1.0.4-7 Numerical Python adds a fast array ii python-pkg-resources 0.6c8-3 Package Discovery and Resource Acc ii python-vtk 5.0.4-1 Python bindings for VTK ii python-wxgtk2.6 2.6.3.2.2-2 wxWidgets Cross-platform C++ GUI t ii python2.42.4.5-1 An interactive high-level object-o mayavi2 recommends no packages. -- no debconf information System: Linux 2.6.22-3-amd64 #1 SMP Tue Feb 12 09:22:35 UTC 2008 x86_64 X Vendor: The X.Org Foundation X Vendor Release: 1030 Selinux: No Accessibility: Disabled GTK+ Theme: Clearlooks Icon Theme: gnome Memory status: size: 500080640 vsize: 500080640 resident: 98566144 share: 41639936 rss: 98566144 rss_rlim: 18446744073709551615 CPU usage: start_time: 1209204446 rtime: 143 utime: 131 stime: 12 cutime:0 cstime: 0 timeout: 0 it_real_value: 0 frequency: 100 Backtrace was generated from '/usr/bin/python' (no debugging symbols found) Using host libthread_db library /lib/libthread_db.so.1.
