Why has the bug report been tagged upstream wontfix? The workaround of adding --no-daemon to the invocation in /usr/share/dbus-1/system-services/org.freedesktop.ConsoleKit.service makes the WARNING go away, but only until the file is overwritten on the next upgrade. It may also have side-effects, but since there's no man page, who can say? Ok. Thx for this up! Bug#494181: gnome-mplayer: pause shortcuts (space and p) don't work
Ok the fact that it works well with the --reallyverbose option is *false*. It works when the windows *has the focus and not the mouse over it*. In the case where the mouse is over the window I don't see the : send command = pause or send command = seek 0 0 when I press the pause shortcuts. It is the same with the fullscreen shorcuts. But these following shortcuts work and I see the send command = line even my mouse is over the window : Right Arrow - Fast Forward Left Arrow - Fast Reverse Page Up - Seek 10min forward Page Down - Seek 10min backward Up Arrow - Seek 1 min forward Down Arrow - Seek 1 min backward m - Mute q - Quit immediately These ones doesn't work like pause or fullscreen : 1 - Contrast down 5 2 - Contrast up 5 3 - Brightness down 5 4 - Brightness up 5 5 - Hue down 5 6 - Hue up 5 7 - Saturation down 5 8 - Saturation up 5 Ctrl-D - Show/Hide file details Ctrl-L - Show/Hide playlist Ctrl-P - preferences + - Increase Audio Delay - - Decreate Audio Delay z - Decrease Subtitle Delay x - Increate Subtitle Delay These ones have an effect, but with the --reallyverbose option I don't see the send command = line when the mouse is over (but I see it when the mouse isn't). [ - Play 10% slower ] - Play 10% faster For these shorcuts : 9 - Volume down 10 0 - Volume up 10 with the --reallyverbose option I don't see the send command = line when the mouse is over, but it has the good effect. But I see that in the terminal : (gnome-mplayer:3660): GLib-GObject-WARNING **: invalid cast from `GtkVolumeButton' to `GtkRange' (gnome-mplayer:3660): Gtk-CRITICAL **: gtk_range_get_value: assertion `GTK_IS_RANGE (range)' failed (gnome-mplayer:3660): GLib-GObject-WARNING **: invalid cast from `GtkVolumeButton' to `GtkRange' (gnome-mplayer:3660): Gtk-CRITICAL **: gtk_range_set_value: assertion `GTK_IS_RANGE (range)' failed Ciao Guillaume -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] with a subject of unsubscribe. Cesare Tirabassi a écrit : Hi Guillame, I'm glad you like it! Your problem seems very strange. Needless to say, it works for me without any hitch. Are you making sure that you don't hold the space/p key for too long? Yes, I'm sure of that. Do you have any other problem with any other shortcut key? Not exactly the same. but with the fullscreen shortcut, it's a bit difficult too. ctrl+f does the fullscreen mode. but another ctrl+f or f doesn't return to normal mode...but it's another problem ;) I notice that when I want to go in the fullscreenmode and I press ctrl+l (like another video player) then I press ctrl+f it doesn't work too... You can also try to launch gnome-mplayer from a console with the command: gnome-mplayer --reallyverbose arghh in a terminal when I launch gnome-mplayer test.avi and when I press pause it doesn't work, but with the --reallyverbose option I don't have any problem with the pause shortcut...gr but I still have the problem with the fullscreen shortcut. Afterwards, check what are the messages you are getting when you press these keys and please report them here. Every time you press the space/p key there should be one and only one send command = pause being reported, and when you press them again there should be one and only one send command = seek being reported. yes it works. Bug#494322: gnome-mplayer: Could you use PCM mixer for the volume mixer ?
Cesare Tirabassi a écrit : On Friday 08 August 2008 16:34:16 giggz wrote: In mplayer the volume is linked to the PCM mixer. And that is very useful! Could you please do the same for gnome-mplayer ? Hi again Guillame, what do you mean by this? gnome-mplayer uses the mplayer volume control in master mode only (which is the mplayer default). Why would you want to set the mplayer volume control to pcm instead of master? Or do you mean something different? when I launch gmplayer on a video file, so I get the gui of mplayer. the sound level which I can see on this gui is the PCM output channel and not the master output channel. It is the same on gxine and the same on my mpd application ario. So when I change one all change together. I don't have change anything on my mplayer config. So I don't understand when you say that mplayer volume control in master mode only (which is the mplayer default). :) But in order to come back to gnome-mplayer : I made a mistake : it uses the PCM output. But, I don't understand why, gnome-mplayer changes my settings of sound level on PCM output : for example I have a sound level of 50% on PCM output before I start gnome-mplayer. As soon as I launch gnome-mplayer, the level is 100% on the PCM output. So here is my problem : gnome-mplayer uses the PCM output, but changes the settings without I do anything. The sound level button on gnome-mplayer works well : when I move the sound level through it, the sound level on my PCM output changes accordingly. Kel Modderman a écrit : Hi, Hi, thx for your quick answer! Below you describe that you setup the wpa-roam scheme of wpasupplicant package. There is no use for ifplud in this mode, ifplugd will only get in the way. Ok. I believe you that wpa_supplicant does the link detection and so...but how to tell the pc that wpa_supplicant must be launched when there is a possible connection...shall I write a script and launch it at boot ? I have read all the documentation of the package and I don't find anything on this subject : how is launched wpa_supplicant ? By me it is not launched. I must do it myself or enter ifup eth1. Bug#454926: Re: Bug#454926: e2fsprogs: get primary superblock features different from backup at each check/reboot
Hi, Theodore Tso a écrit : On Mon, Dec 10, 2007 at 10:14:31AM +0100, Giggz wrote: I'm at work. I can't test it. But if I remember correctly, when I do 'tune2fs -C 100 /dev/hda1', then I reboot I get the primary superblock features different from backup superblock message ( :( ). Then fsck died with exit 1. Fsck dieing with exit 1 is normal. That just means that the filesystem has been modified (filesystem errors are corrected) and this isn't an error condition. Note also that the logs from the current boot are available at /var/log/fsck/checkfs and /var/log/fsck/checkroot. So you can see what happened at the last reboot. Unfortunately the init scripts are buggy here. When fsck exits with an exit code of 1 or 3, it shouldn't use usb the init script helper function log_action_end_msg (since it prints a red failed) message. Instead they should use log_warning_msg to indicate that a full filesystem check had happened and some non-trivial change (such backing up the filesystem superblock) had taken place. I've checked again, though, and both experimentally and by looking at the sources, if the *only* change you had made was changing the mount count via tune2fs -C, you shouldn't be seeing the change. The only things which will trigger a superblock backup are changes in the superblock feature bitmaps (i.e., tune2fs -O, tune2fs -j, or tune2fs -s), or changing the number of blocks or inodes (doing an on-line resize), or changing the uuid (via tune2fs -U). Bug#455201: gftp-gtk: Use icon theme for all images (not just in the menu)

I'm not a programmer...sorry...I can give you the name of the icons you should use...but I can do anymore... ^not Well, I am not a seer, so how am I supposed to guess what you want if you are not more explicit? Ok sorry. instead of using all the time special icons (located in /usr/share/gftp), it could be nice, if a default icon theme is present, to use the gtk action icons (specific to this theme). (so perhaps an icon theme could be recommend or suggest). To do that, the used icons should have a freedesktop name (http://standards.freedesktop.org/icon-naming-spec/icon-naming-spec-latest.html) I propose these name changes (based on the icon from default gnome theme and on the actual form) : connect.xpm - network-transmit-receive or stock_connect or stock_connect-to-url deb.xpm - package-x-generic or gnome-mime-application-x-deb.png diff.xpm - is it for diff mimetype ? (I don't find any icon for that) dir.xpm - folder doc.xpm - unknown (or something else...) dotdot.xpm - I don't find anything for that down.xpm - go-down exe.xpm - system-run.png img.xpm - image-x-generic left.xpm - go-previous linkdir.xpm - there is a link icon but not folder + link or document +link linkfile.xpm - man.xpm - stock_book_blue or stock_book_red or green or yellow... open_dir.xpm - folder-open right.xpm - go-next rpm.xpm - package-x-generic or gnome-mime-application-x-rpm.png sound.xpm - audio-x-generic stop.xpm - process-stop or gtk-cancel or gtk-stop or dialog-cancel tar.xpm - package-x-generic or gnome-mime-application-x-tar.png txt.xpm - text-x-generic up.xpm - go-up world.xpm - applications-internet (perhaps, but I don't understand where this icon is used) I don't know anything about gtk programmation. I just notice with others gtk applications that the use of name of icon, which are in the default theme, just replace the application icon with the theme icon. It's just a wish...so if it asks too much work, just forget that. gftp works fine and it's the only thing that I want :) Cheers, Regards, -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] with a subject of unsubscribe. Bug#454926: e2fsprogs: get primary superblock features different from backup at each check/reboot
Theodore Tso a écrit : On Sat, Dec 08, 2007 at 12:27:00PM +0100, giggz wrote: Package: e2fsprogs Version: 1.40.3-1 Severity: normal Since the yesterday upgrade of e2fs* i get this message when the pc checks my filesystem : primary superblock features different from backup, check forced This appear on all the ext partitions that I check. What can I do to avoid that ? Is there a bug or is it because my system comes from woody and I change 2 flags of my partitions by myself with tune2fs ? This is a one-time occurence. In order to make the usage of the backup superblocks more robust, we now make sure that when the primary superblock values change, that they get backed up in the backup superblocks. This become especially a problem with the usage of online resize operations, which change the number of blocks in the filesystem in the primary superblock, but *not* in the backup superblocks. However, I didn't want to just automatically backup the data to the primary superblock to the backup superblocks, since the information in the primary superblock could be incorrect, and you don't want to blow away the information in the backup superblocks in that case. Hence, in the situation where the primary and superblocks contain different values for certain key configuration parameters for the filesystem (i.e., the filesystmem features bitmasks, the number of blocks and number of inodes, etc.), e2fsck forces a check, and then once it is sure everything is clean, it will copy the changes to the backup superblock. So it should only do this *once*; after that, the backup superblocks will be in synch with the primary superblock, and then you shouldn't see that message again. Yes after a forced check it doesn't appear anymore. But I change the number of count with 'tune2fs -C' to force a check after a reboot and in this case I see the message again. If I change the max count to 2 or 3, and then I reboot several time I don't see any message again. So it is a normal behavior. Are you seeing more than once, after a filesystem check has been successfully completed? If you are that's a bug, and it would be good if you could send me the output of these two commands: dumpe2fs -h /dev/sdXXX (to print out the information of the primary superblock) dumpe2fs -ob32768 -oB4096 -h /dev/sdXXX (to print out the information of the backup superblock) (or if you have a 1k block filesystem, replace the first two arguments with -ob8193 -oB1024; and of course, replace /dev/sdXXX with the device on which your filesystem is stored). I don't give the results of these 2 command lines because (as you explain to me) it's not a bug. So you can close the bug also. If you are only seeing that message once, then it's normal operation and there is no bug. Regards, Cheers, Guillaume - Ted -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] with a subject of unsubscribe. Bug#454626: mpd: crash when I pause the song then I play it (new info)
I just notice that when I login/logout under e17. The problem doesn't appear anymore, until I launch one time for example gxine. I notice that I don't see this problem under virtual console with ncmpc. But it appears under X with ncmpc. I have removed the mixer applet under e17 which is the only thing I see which uses sound under X...but the problem is still there (after launching for example gxine. Just a remark others sound applications work fine after I launch gxine...just mpd crashes...so this bug report). Cheers -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] with a subject of unsubscribe. Bug#454626: (no subject)
Ok, Sorry for all these mails : I think you can close this bug : I just remark that all the problem disappears when I click on stop before closing gxine. Then no more problem with mpd. I don't know what do xine but I think the problem comes from xine or libxine. Perhaps it doesn't finish correctly the communication with alsa If we don't push stop...I will ask xine maintainer. But it doesn't explain why when I do '/etc/init.d/mpd stop' there are 2 others mpd processes at each time.
