Bug#948339: thunar: Thunar crashes when selecting or clickin on webp image

2020-01-07 Thread jEsuSdA
Package: thunar
Version: 1.8.11-1
Severity: important

Dear Maintainer,

I've been working with webp-pixbuf-loader for a while and it works fine.

https://github.com/aruiz/webp-pixbuf-loader/

It brings webp image support to all GTK apps like ristretto, eye of mate,
geeqie, etc.

I updated recently the Thunar file manager to 1.8.11 (from official Debian
testing repositories).

In previous version of thunar works fine, but in this version thunar crashes
when clicking a webp image o even when selecting one.

This is the error message:

(thunar:7316): GdkPixbuf-CRITICAL **: 14:58:52.249:
gdk_pixbuf_calculate_rowstride: assertion 'width > 0' failed

(thunar:7316): GdkPixbuf-CRITICAL **: 14:58:52.249: gdk_pixbuf_get_rowstride:
assertion 'GDK_IS_PIXBUF (pixbuf)' failed

(thunar:7316): GdkPixbuf-CRITICAL **: 14:58:52.249:
gdk_pixbuf_get_pixels_with_length: assertion 'GDK_IS_PIXBUF (pixbuf)' failed
Segmentation fault

I discovered that it is caused by

"misc-image-size-in-statusbar = TRUE"

If I set this value to FALSE, Thunar works fine. This is a workaround but I'm
graphical designer and web developer and "misc-image-size-in-statusbar=TRUE" is
very useful to me.

The point is that it works fine in previous Thunar version, so, maybe something
has been broken in new Thunar releases.

I hope you could solve this problem or maybe tell me how I can solve by myself.

Thanks a lot!

Bug#923018: geeqie: Segfault on create new archive filters

Thanks!

I might have found the cause - there's a check in the code for the word
"Filter", which I can see is "Filtro" in your Spanish version -
In my system (which I run in Swedish), the string is also "Filter"
just like in English, so I don't run into the problem.

Could you please try to run geeqie in English like so:

LC_ALL=C geeqie

and report back if you run into the problem or not.

That's it!

Running it in English does not crashes Geeqie.

;)

Thanks a lot, Andreas!!

In addition to what I wrote above - Could you please try upgrading your
packages to what is present in testing? I can see see from the version
dependency information in the bug report that some of your packages are
not even up to date with versioning in testing. This might very well
affect package behaviour - and I cannot support some arbitrary mix of
stable with testing (Which your APT policy seem to suggest).

Bug#918093: doomsday: Avoid 3D models error on launcher

2019-01-03 Thread jEsuSdA
Package: doomsday
Version: 2.1.1-build2905
Severity: important

Dear Maintainer,

As you can see here:
https://tracker.dengine.net/issues/2312#change-8623

There is a problem when launching Doomsday with some 3D models and improvements
addons.

The bug provoques rendering failures.

The solution is very simple: add the LC_NUMERIC=C variable before launch
Doomsday.

So, maybe you could force modify the doomsday package to force the variable
setting and all the games will work properly.

Thanks a lot.

P.S.: In addition, there is a newer version of doomsday, so it will be
fantastic to have it with official debian packages.

Can you give more details of the breakage?

I found the problem:

fslint does not do recursive duplicate searching when the FOLDER is a
SYMBOLIC LINK

For example:

/folder/main-folder/lot-of-pics

Where lot-of-pics has duplicate files.

ln -s /folder/main-folder /folder/symlink-folder

If you try to find duplicate pics intro /folder/symlink-folder DOES NOT
WORK.

If you try /folder/main-folder/, fslint founds duplicate files inside
lot-of-pics

If you try /folder/symlink-folder/lot-of-pics, fslint works as expected.

So, I think, if route ends on symlink, fslint treats this folder as a
file. If the route ends on regular folder, it works fine.

Can you confirm this?
Thanks a lot!!!

I think this is already fixed in git. See:
https://github.com/pixelb/fslint/commit/9efd7fff

Pádraig

Bug#892356: fslint: findutils on testing breaks fslint recursive search

El 10/03/18 a las 14:09, Pádraig Brady escribió:

I just tried find from git (not a debian package)
and I don't see the issue.
Perhaps it's already fixed in find upstream?

Bug#892355: findutils on testing breaks fslint recursive search

Hello,

could you please elaborate a litle bit on how exactly fslint-gui breaks.
What error is triggered? How can I reproduce this?

TIA, cu Andreas

Yes.

E.g.:

I have a folder with subfolders, and inside them, there are duplicate files.

/main-folder/
> /sub-folder1/
> /sub-folder2/
> file-1.jpg
> file-2.jpg
> file-2-copy.jpg

If I run fslint-gui inside sub-folder2, when searching for duplicate
files, fslint detects file2.jpg and file2-copy.jpg are duplicates.

But, if I run fslint-gui inside main-folder and check "recursive", when
searching for duplicate files, no one is located, although we know there
are two duplicate files in sub-folder2.

If I downgrade the findutils package, fslint-gui is capable to find
file2.jpg and file-2-copy.jpg as duplicates when searching from
main-folder recursively.

I hope been able to explain this issue. ;)
Thanks!

I'm not too sure. Can you try running some commands from
gstreamer1.0-tools as a test.

Eg does this work (should print lots of info):
 gst-inspect-1.0 fakesink

Thanks,
James

Thank you, James.

The failure was caused by gstreamer.

I was able to solve removing the ~/.cache/gstreamer-1.0/registry.x86_64.bin

Thank you! ;)

ANY USER BUT ROOT.

I have all the gstreamer packages installed, the codecs, etc. in fact, as I
said before, I can play anything as ROOT, but it is impossible to play with any
other users.

I tried a lot of internet forum tricks, but nothing works.

There is a video group and my user is in it:

Here the groups I'm member:

I compared the groups I'm member in the pc with problems with another laptop

Bug#872048: synaptic: Please, fix several GTK Styles issues with Toolbar and Buttons

2017-08-13 Thread jEsuSdA
Package: synaptic
Version: 0.84.2
Severity: wishlist

Dear Maintainer,

There are few issues with the GTK3 Interface that provokes a ugly visualization
in several themes:

The first one is that the TOOLBAR does NOT HAVE 100% size. So, it breaks after
"Search" button. With a plain theme, this is not noticed, but if you use a
theme with a Toolbar style, the appearance lacks and synaptic does not look
very good:

http://pasteall.org/pic/show.php?id=117941

Here you can see how the toolbar ends instead to fill all the window size.

So, please, consider to solve this. ;)

The second one is the distance between the left bottom buttons and the right
panel:

http://pasteall.org/pic/show.php?id=117942

So, please, make some padding to try to do something like that:

http://pasteall.org/pic/show.php?id=117943

Thank you so much!

Bug#869282: udev: Update breaks Keyboard Configuration

2017-07-22 Thread jEsuSdA 8)

Hi, again.

I found that I have TWO KEYBOARD DEVICES instead ONE.

Here you can see:

ls /dev/input/by-id/ -la

drwxr-xr-x 2 root root 120 jul 22 13:35 .
drwxr-xr-x 4 root root 580 jul 22 13:35 ..
lrwxrwxrwx 1 root root   9 jul 22 13:35 usb-04b4_0033-event-mouse ->
../event0

lrwxrwxrwx 1 root root   9 jul 22 13:35 usb-04b4_0033-mouse -> ../mouse0
lrwxrwxrwx 1 root root 9 jul 22 13:35
usb-Logitech_Logitech_USB_Keyboard-event-kbd -> ../event1
lrwxrwxrwx 1 root root 9 jul 22 13:35
usb-Logitech_Logitech_USB_Keyboard-if01-event-joystick -> ../event2

As you can see, there are an event1 and other event2.
With key-touch-editor I could test the event2 DO DETECT the extra and
multimedia keys, but the event1 does not.

How can select the event2 device as my default device keyboard?

Thanks!

Bug#867162: caja: Add sidebar class to sidebar to allow better theming integration

2017-07-04 Thread jEsuSdA
Package: caja
Version: 1.16.6-1
Severity: wishlist

Dear Maintainer,

I've reported a but to my GTK theme mantainers (Greybird theme) to allow Caja
to have better integration.

The mantainers said it will be fine to add the "sidebar" class to the left
panel, so if you could do that, it will be great.

Here the issue in Greybird github:

https://github.com/shimmerproject/Greybird/issues/195#issuecomment-312385538

And here, the main mantainer answer:

"The easiest way would be for caja to use the sidebar class, then the theming
would simply be right in all themes..."

Thanks a lot!

Bug#867160: synaptic: Inner space in Synaptic borders

2017-07-04 Thread jEsuSdA
Package: synaptic
Version: 0.84.2
Severity: wishlist

Dear Maintainer,

The right bottom buttons are so close to the panel border, so the appearance
looks like so ugly in comparisson with the GTK2 Synaptic version.

I've submitted this bug to Greybird mantainers and they suggest this bug is not
a GTK theme bug, it is a Synaptic UI Bug.

Here the thread about that:

https://github.com/shimmerproject/Greybird/issues/196#issuecomment-312385249

So, please, could you increase the padding between the buttons and the borders?

Thanks! ;)

Package: compiz

Severity: wishlist

Dear Maintainer,

Please, reconsider to re-include Compiz on the official repositories.

There are a group of mantainers that are achieved to mantain compiz for Debian.

http://compiz-debian.tuxfamily.org/

Maybe support them re-including theyr packages into Debian, could be a good way
to bring this nice compositing manager to all Debian users.

I've tested it and it works nice on debian Testing.

Please, reconsider that.
Tank you!

Bug#818556: thunar: Thunar has lost all plugins

2016-03-19 Thread jEsuSdA
Package: thunar
Version: 1.6.10-2
Severity: important

Dear Maintainer,

Please, I need your help.

Last day I read there are a patch which solves the continuous segfaults in
Thunar when renaming/copying/moving files.

I tried to download and compiled Thunar from Git, but it didn't not work. So I
remove (and purge) it and reinstall it form the original Debian repositories.

But now, thunar does not load any plugin or personalized actions, so it is
almost unusable: it still crashing and I've lost almost all the functions I
need.

Here you have a screenshot about this

How can I restore Thunar. I prefer using it althoug it still crashing but
having the plugins and personalized actions I need.

Please, help me. :_(

I try to downgrade libglib2 to 2.44 from 2.46 and there is impossible.
The new packages depends on 2.46 and if I downgrade the system brokes.

Maybe the bug must solved from Thunar itself.

Are you sure that's related to glib? What *exactly* did you upgrade?
Also, could you use reportbug to follow up on this bug so we have an
idea of what your system looks like?

First I receive a message about org.freedesktop.udisk2 promt me to
introduce the root pastword.

I search and I found several articles talking about policykit and I
update several related packages (mount, udisk2, policykit-1, gvfs, dbus,
...) and now Thunar only show me this message:

So, I don't know what happens. Something was working fine, suddently

Imho, that's just another instance of #754850 but I might be wrong. What
init system do you have?

Here the solution I found:

https://mail.xfce.org/pipermail/xfce/2014-October/033786.html

It appears to be related with cgroups.

Thanks!

Package: gscan2pdf
Version: 1.2.5-1
Severity: wishlist

Dear Maintainer,

I propose to add a time parameter to allow users define time between scans in
batch mode.

I use gscan2pdf but my scanner is under the table and has a cover, so i spend
more time to retire old page and put the new page than scanner spend on the
escan task.

So, I have some pages that must be deleted and I spend much more time to scan a
document.

It will be great let users define the time in seconds gscan2pdf must wait for
any scan.

Thank you so much and excuse my poor english. ;)

Hello!

As you can see, the big problem is the submenu does not allow to select
main menú options. You must cancel selection, and then, try to select
the submenú once again

http://www.pasteall.org/pic/show.php?id=33446

That is minor :)

It is a no critical failure, but it indicates the menu drawing is not
the same like the previous libreoffice versions. This mistake could
suggest some others bugs related could exists.

And... it is ugly and extrange to see one application draw his widgets
in his own way... without desktop integration. :D

And without compiz? Note that afaicr on the mls compiz is so buggy
that it won't

be in wheezy.
But whether compiz is involved here is an important info.

At least here (sid, gnome3 - in forced fallback mode, intel graphics)
it works...

With XFWM4 the shadows works, but the menu still appearing in wrong
orientation.

The shadow could be a Compiz error...

I have the next configuration in Window Decoration plugin:

Window Shadow: any (class=Tooltip | Menu | PopupMenu | DropdownMenu |
dock | dialog | combo | splash | Unknown) | name=VCLSalFrame |
name=gnome-panel | name=gkrellm

Which has no image of your overlapping thing

Bug#677484: libreoffice: Extrange behaviour on LibreOffice 3.5 menus

2012-06-14 Thread jEsuSdA
Package: libreoffice
Version: 1:3.5.4-3
Severity: important

Dear Maintainer,
   * What led up to the situation?

Upgrading Libreoffice from 3.4 to 3.5.

   * What exactly did you do (or not do) that was effective (or
 ineffective)?

The libreoffice menu does not work properly.
They raises from right to left instead from left to right.

Sometimes the submenus are placed over the main menu, then it is impossible to
read all options and make it inusable.

I notice too that the new menus has no shadow.
I use Copiz and all the apps are shadows on their menus, LibreOffice 3.4 and
earlier version too, but 3.5 has not shadow at all.

You can see these screenshot:

http://www.pasteall.org/pic/show.php?id=33224
http://www.pasteall.org/pic/show.php?id=33223

   * What outcome did you expect instead?

I spect the libreoffice menu continue working as any user can spect: with his
drop down shadows and expandin submenús from left to right.

I hope you could help me to solve the problem.

Bug#626351: speech-dispatcher-festival: speech-dispatcher 0.7.1-6 locks pulseaudio (only dummy output appears as sound device)

2011-05-11 Thread jEsuSdA
Package: speech-dispatcher-festival
Version: 0.7.1-6
Severity: normal

Latest update of speech-dispatcher launches two pulseaudio instances that locks
the audio system.

Speech-dispatcher launch two pulseaudio instances locking the audio hardware
and then, users can not use this hardware.

When user log in into gnome, pulseaudio only detects the dummy output sound
device (no hardware device detected) and no sound can be played.

If root type: killall -9 pulseaudio , then hardware releases and users can use
pulseaudio --start and start playing sounds (hardware device is detected).

The solution I find: remove the speech-dispatcher package. Then, all is working
again.
