Bug#719157: [vlc-nox] playing directory with 2.0.8 crash if libdvdread4 too old

2013-08-08 Thread manuk7
Package: vlc-nox
Version: 2.0.8-1
Severity: normal

--- Please enter the report below this line. ---
Hi,

VLC segfault when i passed a directory as argument (see attached
traceback). I was running an older version (4.2.0+20120521-2) of
libdvdread4 which was not required to be updated by vlc-nox.

Updating libdvdread4 to 4.2.0+20130219-2 solves the problem.

Maybe you could update libdvdread4 depend to 4.2.0+20130219-2 to avoid
this issue ?

Hello,

How to reproduce this bug :
- Configure a Owncloud calendar in Iceowl/Lightning
- Stop mysql database used by Owncloud
- In Iceowl, click on Synchronize (or wait until it's done automatically
every XXX min).
=> check http server (apache2 for me) logs for http flood

Bug#712484: [jackd2] "Cannot create shm registry segment (Permission denied)"

2013-06-16 Thread manuk7
Package: jackd2
Version: 1.9.8~dfsg.4+20120529git007cdc37-5
Severity: minor

--- Please enter the report below this line. ---
Since few time i'm was unable to launch jackd with the following message
: « Cannot create shm registry segment (Permission denied) »

I found this is mostly due to /run/shm which wasn't mounted as tmpfs
(btw i don't know were to report this bug).

However it seems jackd is also guilty because it tries to access
/dev/shm instead of /run/shm. According to release notes of /run
migration (
http://wiki.debian.org/ReleaseGoals/RunDirectory#Packages_using_.2Fdev.2Fshm
) this shall be done with shm_* and sem_*. Could you correct this ?

Thanks

Yes, always a lot of artefacts.

I upgraded it now, but nothing better.

Do think i should transfer this bug to kernel package ?

I just installed it; unfortunately that's not better. I also upgraded
libgl1-mesa-gl to experimental.
Probably i can only wait for 9.2.

I'm trying to use a Radeon HD 7480D chip (integrated GPU in A4 AMD
processor). It works fine with a recent kernel (3.8 from Sid) for
booting with KMS ... but GL applications suffers from a lot of artefacts :

Could tell me if this problem is already known / if i may provide you
informations to try to correct this problem which currently makes this
chip unusable for games ?

Thanks,

Bug#709917: [flightgear] Unable to launch without Recommended packages

Package: flightgear
Version: 2.6.0-1.1
Severity: wishlist

--- Please enter the report below this line. ---
My apt configuration doesn't install automatically Recommends packages.
When i install the package 'flightgear' i'm unable to launch flightgear:
"Cannot find specified aircraft: c172p"
"Config option parsing failed ..."

I think flightgear should mention that no data package is found, or the
'flightgear' package shall install data packages as Depends packages.
Recommends packages aren't supposed to renders main package unusable.

Thanks

--- Please enter the report below this line. ---
Actually this bug only occurs because Owncloud's database was
unavailable (but http server was available).

Therefore this is not anymore a critical bug, however Iceowl could
include a limitation of requests send to http server in this case.

This bug might affect also previous versions of Iceowl (ie Wheezy package).

Bug#701116: [iceowl-extension] floods Owncloud calendar server

Package: iceowl-extension
Version: 17.0.2-1

I use one local calendar + one remote calendar on Owncloud. Since an
update to version 17 (experimental), Icedove/Iceowl doesn't prompt me
any more for my Owncloud password and says that my calendar isn't
synchronised.
When i click on Synchronise, still no password request but the Owncloud
server get flooded with following requests :

This bug might be related with #669859.
I tag it important because it's saturating the Owncloud server by
creating a plenty PHP sessions by second ... so i'm forced to
desactivate this remote calendar.

Bug#667501: Linux 2.6.39+: WARNING: floppy_disable_hlt() scheduled for removal in 2012

2012-11-05 Thread manuk7
Hi,

i'm affraid but i'm also concerned with this bug on a fresh Wheezy
installation (linux-image 3.2.0-4-686-pae). I'm just migrating from
Squeeze, where this floppy disk was working fine. In attachement is my
dmesg which is very similar to rpnpif's one.

This is IMO a serious regression for Wheezy release.

Btw I don't understand why this bug has been retitled as only applying
to 2.6 despite the submitter found it on 3.2.

Thanks,

Bug#437872: gnuchess: Increases CPU load to 100% if invoced by xboard

2012-10-29 Thread manuk7
Hi,

I think i got a similar bug (i'll open a new report if really different) :

- When running 'gnuchess' from console, the 'gnuchess' process takes
100% of the CPU.
- When running 'xboard', nothing abnormal (fairymax loads the CPU only
when computer is thinking).

Dear submitter, could you check if the initial behaviour you described 5
years ago still occur and if you're not confronted to my behaviour ?

Thanks,

Hi,

I got also this locale warning with scilab 5.4.0.0-1~exp1 (from

interface (menus, messages ...) is still in english.
Are your menus in french when exporting LC_ALL / when not exporting ?

@Philipp:
The current behaviour (in version 3.4.2-1) is to record pictures in
~/Pictures/Webcam and videos in ~/Videos/Webcam (~/Picture and ~/Videos
are standardized directories managed through xdg).

So this bug is not relevant anymore; at least it could be a wish to let
the user to choose the record directory, but i'm not sure it's
compatible with the Gnome/advanced desktop philosophy.

@Package Maintener: I switch severity to wishlist but in my opinion this
bug should be closed.

Bug#675373: virtualbox: segfault in libQtCore.so.4.8.1

2012-06-09 Thread manuk7
I'm suffering of the same problem, which seems to be double :

* right permission on /usr/lib/virtualbox/VirtualBox
By default, set to 6755, but
https://forums.virtualbox.org/viewtopic.php?t=11154 says 4711. This last
value doesn't work for me and seems really strange to me (the file isn't
executable any more).
I can't get a backtrace when running virtualbox in gdb as a normal user,
but it's more interesting when running as root (see below).

* crash in libqtcore :

Bug#617938: wrong ownership of /var/log/news/ and /etc/news/

2012-02-19 Thread manuk7
Hello,

As mentioned in the Ubuntu bug report, this behavior seems in accordance
with the Debian Policy :
http://www.debian.org/doc/manuals/securing-debian-howto/ch12.en.html#s12.1.12.1

I'm not really convinced we may considered that as a bug, however it
should be reported to the Debian Policy (i don't know how) rather than
to any package.

I suggest to close this bug.

Hi,

I can't reproduce that bug.

When looking at mini-buildd-rep.init , i can't see any required

I believe I was using the 2.6.37-trunk (from experimental) at this time.
Since I've upgraded to 2.6.37-1 and I'm unable to reproduce the bug,
either with debian package and Git revision.

So that was probably a kernel problem.

Bug#593248: aptitude: Does not fetch changelog from experimental

2011-02-17 Thread manuk7

-BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE-
Hash: SHA1

Some additionnal notes:
This doesn't seem to be a bug but rather a feature :) (or more precisely
a default policy).

CLI version of aptitude has the same "problem"; aptitude changelog
return the changelog of the version that aptitude would
install, and that's explained in the manpage: « By default, the
changelog for the version which would be installed with "aptitude
install" is downloaded.»

I think that default policy for changelog fetch with aptitude should be
revised: for both CLI and ncurses, aptitude should fetch the changelog
of installed version when the package is installed.

btw I think severity should be set to whishlist.

Regards,

Ok I have installed midori-dbg, libglib2.0-0-dbg and libgtk2.0-0-dbg.
I hope that the output is verbose enough now.

One attachment is the result of "bt" and the other of "bt full".

Please let me known if I should add again some -dbg package.

Ok, I re-installed testing version of libglib. Then midori didn't
segfault anymore on "fr." but on "en." (this is probably because history
has changed during this time; Now I kept a copy of my .config/midori in
case we need to do others tests).

Please find the backtrace in attachment.

No; the only dependance updated when I updated libglib was
libglib2.0-dev, and libglib2.0-bin as new package.

Bug#611677: iotop: Huge and wrong io values

2011-02-08 Thread manuk7

Hi

for your information, I was suffering from the same problem with version
0.4-2 on amd64 architecture.
But the last Git revision seems to partialy solve the problem in my case.

~$ iotop -obk -n1
Total DISK READ: 1582.97 K/s | Total DISK WRITE: 0.00 K/s
TID PRIO USER DISK READ DISK WRITE SWAPIN IOCOMMAND
10115 be/4 manuel 6798788191870.07 K/s 1062310654979.70 K/s 0.00 %
0.00 % rtorrent debian-live-6.0.0-i386-xfce-desktop.iso.torrent

With last Git revision, Disk read/Disk write values are ok:
~/paquets/iotop$ ./iotop.py -okb -n1
Total DISK READ: 1980.04 K/s | Total DISK WRITE: 0.00 K/s
TID PRIO USER DISK READ DISK WRITE SWAPIN IOCOMMAND
10115 be/4 manuel 1785.92 K/s0.00 K/s 0.00 % 45.72 % rtorrent
debian-live-6.0.0-i386-xfce-desktop.iso.torrent

However when sorting processes by write/read size in interactive mode,
the IO percentages are sometime wrong (with both current debian package
and Git):

520 be/4 manuel 43.20 P 20.41 P 0.00 % -441921744.24 %
firefox-bin
1020 be/4 root 16.00 T 9.89 P 0.00 % -574477165.34 %
[kjournald]

Björn, do you notice this problem too ?
I don't know if it's possible to grab this data in non-interactive mode.
