Bug#777388: fish: some applications fail to detach from shell
Package: fish Version: 2.1.1.dfsg-2 Severity: normal Tags: upstream Dear Maintainer, Some applications including the zathura document viewer do not detach from the shell when they are invoked with an & character at the end of the line. Example: me@computer: zathura foo.pdf & => shell prompt does not return until i quit the application. Other applications work as expected and zathura and other problematic applications work as expected in other shells, at least bash and zsh. Therefore I think that this behaviour is the result of a bug in the job handling of fish shell. -- System Information: Debian Release: 8.0 APT prefers unstable APT policy: (500, 'unstable') Architecture: i386 (i686) Kernel: Linux 3.16.0-4-686-pae (SMP w/2 CPU cores) Locale: LANG=en_GB.UTF-8, LC_CTYPE=en_GB.UTF-8 (charmap=UTF-8) Shell: /bin/sh linked to /bin/dash Init: systemd (via /run/systemd/system) Versions of packages fish depends on: ii bc 1.06.95-9 ii chromium [www-browser] 40.0.2214.91-1 ii dwb [www-browser] 20140702hg-2 ii elinks [www-browser]0.12~pre6-5+b2 ii google-chrome-stable [www-browser] 40.0.2214.94-1 ii iceweasel [www-browser] 31.4.0esr-1 ii libc6 2.19-14 ii libgcc1 1:4.9.2-10 ii libjs-jquery1.7.2+dfsg-3.2 ii libncurses5 5.9+20140913-1+b1 ii libstdc++6 4.9.2-10 ii libtinfo5 5.9+20140913-1+b1 ii w3m [www-browser] 0.5.3-19 Versions of packages fish recommends: ii xsel 1.2.0-2 Versions of packages fish suggests: pn doc-base pn menu -- debconf-show failed -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to debian-bugs-dist-requ...@lists.debian.org with a subject of "unsubscribe". Bug#724344: ITP: bdsync -- bdsync is a fast block device synchronizing tool
From: intrigeri Subject: Re: Bug#724344: ITP: bdsync -- bdsync is a fast block device synchronizing tool Date: Thu, 09 Oct 2014 11:50:49 +0200 > Hi maxigas, > > did you really intend to file this bug as an ITP (intent to package), > or instead as a RFP (request for package)? yes, i actually made the package. but then i found out about the licence exception which has to be done for openssl and decided to try porting the software to gnutls. afair it uses only a single function call to the crypto library. then my patch did not work and i am still looking for somebody with enough C knowledge to help fixing it. :) -- maxigas, kiberpunk FA00 8129 13E9 2617 C614 0901 7879 63BC 287E D166 http://research.metatron.ai/ People the switches! -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to debian-bugs-dist-requ...@lists.debian.org with a subject of "unsubscribe". Bug#724344: ITP: bdsync -- bdsync is a fast block device synchronizing tool
Package: wnpp Severity: wishlist Owner: maxigas * Package name: bdsync Version : 0.5 Upstream Author : * URL : <http://bdsync.rolf-fokkens.nl/> * License : GPL Programming Lang: C Description : bdsync is a fast block device synchronizing tool Bdsync can be used to synchronize block devices over a network. It generates a "binary diff" in an efficient way by comparing MD5 checksums of 32k blocks of the local block device LOCDEV and the remote block device REMDEV. This binary diff can be sent to the remote machine and applied to its block device DSTDEV, after which the local blockdev LOCDEV and the remote block device REMDEV are synchronized. bdsync was built to do the only thing rsync isn't able to do: syn‐ chronize block devices. -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to debian-bugs-dist-requ...@lists.debian.org with a subject of "unsubscribe". Package: debian-installer Version: 20110106+b1 Severity: normal Tags: d-i Installing Squeeze 64-bit netinst graphical. I choose the "Delete everything, use whole disk, set up LMV with encryption" option. Bug#616124: debian-installer: APT fails to connect to repository after network reconfiguration
Package: debian-installer Version: 20110106+b1 Severity: normal Tags: d-i Installing Squeeze 64-bit graphical netinst through eth0. I changed my physical location just before the "Popularity contest" page without turning off the computer. I ran the "Network configuration" step again, and it said "Autoconfiguration is successful", and in the log on console 4 I could see that DHCP went OK. However, when installing packages APT said in console 4 "Temporary failure in resolving ", even if I tried very different mirrors. At the same time, "wget http://google.com && cat index.html" could pull down the frontpage of that website without any problem, so I assume that the network was indeed configured and working. Impact: I had to restart the whole installation process. -- System Information: Debian Release: 6.0 APT prefers squeeze-updates APT policy: (500, 'squeeze-updates'), (500, 'stable') Architecture: amd64 (x86_64) Kernel: Linux 2.6.32-5-amd64 (SMP w/2 CPU cores) Locale: LANG=en_US.utf8, LC_CTYPE=en_US.utf8 (charmap=UTF-8) Shell: /bin/sh linked to /bin/dash -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to debian-bugs-dist-requ...@lists.debian.org with a subject of "unsubscribe".
