Bug#878232: python2.7: urllib can't connect to HTTPS sites (presumably due to ECC)

2017-10-11 Thread Lck Ras
Package: python2.7
Version: 2.7.13-2
Severity: normal

Dear Maintainer,

   * What led up to the situation?

I tried to connect to likc.me using urllib2.urlopen("https://likc.me;).
This server is configured with ECC keys, and has no issues serving
most clients. Sllabs reports no errors. I am on Stretch.

   * What exactly did you do (or not do) that was effective (or
 ineffective)?

Switching to Jessie. On Jessie, urllib2.urlopen returns with no
   errors, as expected.

   * What was the outcome of this action?

   $ python2

Bug#644401: trac: Translations are missing

the problem seems to be a missing Build-Depends on python-babel.

I don't think that localization can magically work without translation files.

Bug#642223: closed by der...@debian.org (Bug#642223: fixed in vidalia 0.2.14-3)

2011-10-12 Thread ras

It has been closed by der...@debian.org.

Their explanation is attached below along with your original report.
If this explanation is unsatisfactory and you have not received a
better one in a separate message then please contact der...@debian.org by
 replying to this email.

vidalia 0.2.14-3 still cannot start tor. I removed ~/.vidalia and restarted
vidalia -- with no success.
Is vidalia supposed to use TCP connection or Unix domain socket
(/var/run/tor/control) to control Tor?

Bug#642325: [tor] /etc/init.d/tor refuses to start, complaining about /var/run/tor directory

2011-09-23 Thread ras

Ok, that script looks like it creates /var/run/tor - what happens when
you remove the one you created and try to run the init script?

All is fine now. Thanks. Tor still complains about wrong permissions of
/var/run/tor directory when started by vidalia under regular user,
but that is completely different issue, I guess:

Bug#642223: info

2011-09-22 Thread ras
Do you have any custom configuration on torrc, specifically overriding
defaults daemon's user/group, socket ownership, or something related?

I didn't touch it in any way.

Would you mind attaching into this thread the output of this commands
(as root)?

# file /var/run
/var/run: symbolic link to `/run'

# ls -ld /var/run
0 lrwxrwxrwx 1 root root 4 Jun 27 05:13 /var/run - /run

# ls -ld /var/run/tor

tmpfs 405016 472404544 1% /run

$ cat /etc/default/tor.vidalia
if [ -x /usr/bin/vidalia ]; then

fi

Tor still complains about /var/run/tor not owned by my user.

Modifying vidalia settings to use TCP connection instead of Unix domain socket

Bug#634036: [fglrx-driver] with fglrx-driver Xorg eats 15-20% of CPU core

2011-07-16 Thread ras
Package: fglrx-driver
Version: 1:11-6-2
Severity: normal

When fglrx-driver used as a display driver, Xorg process is constantly eating
15-20% of CPU core,
as shown by top, even while there's no display activity. If
xserver-xorg-video-radeon is used instead,
Xorg uses only 2-5% of a CPU. I tried it with the dist kernel and custom
kernels, results are the same.
I use KDE4 with effects turned off.

Bug#628488: [ecryptfs-utils] Need a way to stop pam_ecryptfs from automounting Private directory on login

2011-05-29 Thread ras
Package: ecryptfs-utils
Version: 83-4
Severity: wishlist

I'd like not to have ~/Private directory automatically mounted on login,
but instead I want to mount it manually, entering a password.
It was mentioned, that one can just remove the auto-mount file in order
to stop ~/Private from being auto-(u)mounted, but this obviously does
not work, see http://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=612160 .
Also see Ubuntu bug
https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/ecryptfs-utils/+bug/256154 ,
comments #4 to #8.
So, if it will not be fixed, I need an another way to disable this
auto-mounting.

Bug#626662: [pkg-cli-apps-team] Bug#626662: [f-spot] f-spot refuses to run

2011-05-29 Thread ras

This line makes me suspicious that a particular image in your f-spot
library is causing the program to crash. Would you be able to try
cleaning your library out and using f-spot then?

Sorry, should have mentioned that you do this by removing or moving
 ~/.config/f-spot/photos.db

I've built f-spot 0.8.2-2 with apt-src and installed it. I'm afraid, the bug it
still there,
I cannot get working f-spot at all, all I get is error dialog, f-spot
terminates after
I press Close button.
And again, it is FSpot.Widgets.PhotoImageView.LoadErrorImage (System.Exception
e) [0x0] in filename unknown:0

I don't have any images in the f-spot library, for it is the first time I've
installed
f-spot on this machine, and f-spot was never run at all. Removing
~/.config/f-spot
directory did not help.

You could also try installing f-spot 0.8.2.2 from testing and see if
that fixes your problem. It has much more robust image loading code.

I'll try building 0.8.2-2 from unstable.

2011-05-23 Thread ras
if you delete auto-mount, ecryptfs-utils can't guess that you want it to
be restored. kdm can't know that you want to use it. nothing we ca do
here, closing.

You don't understand the problem, and your title change is wrong. I DO NOT
want it to be restored. I want ~/Private directory not to be mounted
automatically,
when auto-mount file does not exist.

Bug#626677: [libkfile4] incorrect sorting of nepomuk search results

2011-05-14 Thread ras
Package: libkfile4
Version: 4:4.4.5-4
Severity: normal
Tags: patch

Dolphin does incorrectly sort search results for protocols that allow identical
file names from different directories.
See bug #626372: http://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=626372

As no one seemed to be interested, I did some investigation myself.
The problem was localized in kde4libs 4:4.4.5-4, file
kdirsortfilterproxymodel.cpp,
class KDirSortFilterProxyModel, method subSortLessThan.

Patch attached. I hope it will be included in the next debian revision of
kde4libs.

Bug#626372: [dolphin] cycling images with identical filenames in nepomuk search results on mouse movement

2011-05-11 Thread ras
Package: dolphin
Version: 4:4.4.5-3
Severity: normal

When you have thumbnails of images with identical filenames in the Dolphin
NEPOMUK search results,
and move mouse over one of these thumbnails and move it off, Dolphin cycles
this thumbnail
and all the following thumbnails having the same name, so this thumbnail
becomes the last,
thumbnail right of it becomes first one, and so on.

Steps to reproduce:

1. create several directories under directory that nepomuk indexes. Let it be
001, 002, 003, ...

2. in each of these directories put several images, so that names in each
directory will be
identical. You will have the structure like:

001/
001/01.jpg
001/02.jpg
001/03.jpg

002/
002/01.jpg
002/02.jpg
002/03.jpg
...
003/
003/01.jpg
003/02.jpg

etc.

3. Assign all of these images some tag, say 'SampleTag', using gwenview.

4. Open Dolphin and write in the address bar:
hasTag:SampleTag

5. Press Enter. You will be presented with thumbnails of images found.

6. Move mouse pointer over first of them and off it. Dolphin will cycle
thumbnails, so the second thumbnail will become the first,
third become the second one, ..., and image that was the first will become the
last image in the sequence of images
with the same name.

If all the above is not enough, here's the short video on the subject, recorded
with recordmydesktop:

It seems that grp_led:caps option now isn't on by default if grp:caps_toggle is

So you can set XkbOptions or use setxkbmap to revert to the needed behaviour.

Bug#617206: [firestarter] Firestarter refuses to start

2011-03-07 Thread ras
Package: firestarter
Version: 1.0.3-8
Severity: normal

Firestarter just silently fails to start after installation, if started
through the KDE4 menu (command is su-to-root -X -c /usr/sbin/firestarter).

I tried to run it from the shell, as su-to-root -c /usr/sbin/firestarter, and
got message box, saying:
A proper configuration for Firestarter was not found. If you are running
Firestarter from the directory you built it in, run 'make install-data-local'
to install a configuration, or simply 'make install' to install the whole
program.
Firestarter will now close.

I tried to run it as gksu firestarter, and got these messages:
The program 'firestarter' received an X Window System error.
This probably reflects a bug in the program.
The error was 'BadMatch (invalid parameter attributes)'.
  (Details: serial 160 error_code 8 request_code 2 minor_code 0)
  (Note to programmers: normally, X errors are reported asynchronously;
that is, you will receive the error a while after causing it.
To debug your program, run it with the --sync command line
option to change this behavior. You can then get a meaningful
backtrace from your debugger if you break on the gdk_x_error() function.)

Reboot did not help either.

After all, I run it as kdesudo firestarter, it finally started and I did go
through the wizard and got working firestarter.

After that, I closed it and tried to start it from the menu and to run
previous commands again, with no success.

Bug#614733: [fbreader] ability to use condensed fonts

2011-02-22 Thread ras
Package: fbreader
Version: 0.10.7dfsg-4
Severity: wishlist

Font selection combo box in the FBReader options doesn't allow one to select
condensed versions of the font, say, DejaVu Serif Condensed (which I
personally like). To use one of these fonts, one must manually edit
~/.FBReader/ui.xml. I wish that it would be possible to select ANY font
available to the system, either by making the combo box editable or in any
other way.

Bug#612160: [ecryptfs-utils] kdm fails to log in after ~/.ecryptfs/auto-mount is deleted

2011-02-06 Thread ras
Package: ecryptfs-utils
Version: 83-4
Severity: normal

If you delete ~/.ecryptfs/auto-mount and log out of KDE session,
and try to log in again, kdm, after some screen flashing, will bring you back
to the login screen.
You can still successfully log in in the terminal, using C-A-F1, and after the
following command
$ touch ~/.ecryptfs/auto-mount
kdm is able to start KDE session again.

Bug#305012: logwtmp plugin is for pppd version 2.4.3, but version is 2.4.2

2005-04-17 Thread Ras Algeti
Package: pptpd
Version: 1.2.1-3

This morning I've updated pptpd package and restart pptpd daemon. After that I
tried to connect to PPTP and it return me error 800...

Then I see this in syslog:

Apr 17 10:53:36 debianbox pptpd[23732]: CTRL: Client 10.0.0.2 control
connection started
Apr 17 10:53:36 debianbox pptpd[23732]: CTRL: Starting call (launching pppd,
opening GRE)
Apr 17 10:53:36 debianbox pppd[23733]: Plugin /usr/lib/pptpd/pptpd-logwtmp.so
is for pppd version 2.4.3, this is 2.4.2
Apr 17 10:53:36 debianbox pptpd[23732]: GRE: read(fd=4,buffer=804e6c0,len=8196)
from PTY failed: status = -1 error = Input/output error, usually caused by
unexpected termination of pppd, check option syntax and pppd logs
Apr 17 10:53:36 debianbox pptpd[23732]: CTRL: PTY read or GRE write failed
(pty,gre)=(4,5)
Apr 17 10:53:36 debianbox pptpd[23732]: CTRL: Reaping child PPP[23733]
Apr 17 10:53:36 debianbox pptpd[23732]: CTRL: Client 10.0.0.2 control
connection finished

Version of my ppp package is 2.4.2+20040428-6
I uprade debian using:
# apt-get update
# apt-get upgrade
# apt-get dist-upgrade
and mirror at debian.ludost.net

I had logwtmp option enabled /etc/pptpd.conf
After disabling it (by commenting line: #logwtmp) everything works fine...
But I want to use it to monitor easy which users are now connected...

If you have any questions don't hesitate to write me!

Thank You and Have a nice Day!
