2022-04-16 Thread Charles Plessy
Dear Elimar,

I am the maintainer of mime-support, mailcap and media-types.

I would like to remove mime-support from Debian this release cycle.

Sorry that I did not contact you earlier, but may I ask you to recommend
mailcap instead of mime-support ?

Have a nice day,

Charles

Sorry but this issue severity is more a wishlist to me.
Maybe the following explanations for example are clearer than mine:

https://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=991780

Thanks

mime-support depends on both mailcap and media-types. You have to
decide whether it should be purged as other packages depend on it. I
don't really see a bug here?

Package: lynx
Version: 2.9.0dev.10-1
Severity: minor

Dear Maintainer,

mime-support is a transitional package since bullseye and this may replaced by
mailcap or in some specific case by media-types only. I did not check for this
last case. If needed regarding the targeted distributions, I think it should
still be possible to use an alternate form like mailcap | mime-support.

Regards,
Patrice
