Thanks. I've finally been working on the packaging more substantially,
and it's coming along. Took a while for the review, copyright updates,
dfsg-split, merge, etc. But it's getting closer. We've been discussing
it off an on on #debian-emacs (OFTC), and I'm hoping to have packages to
upload for evaluation/testing and then migration within the next week or
so.

Package: emacs
Followup-For: Bug #1009169

Hi Rob,

Thanks for maintaining Emacs in Debian! I've been a long time Emacs
user and would like to help in anyway you prefer. I had some
experiences in Debian packaging a few years ago and have been
relearning everything from the docs like [1] and [2]. If there's
anything that I can help with (e.g. testing, bug triaging, etc.)
please let me know.

Please excuse my impatience, but emacs 28 seems to be really great:

Please consider a backport.

Do you need any help with the emacs package? Would you welcome a
co-maintainer?

Thank you!
