I'm surprised when I checked on this package and I assume this to be a (very bad) mistake. It seems that with the NMU, the package was hijacked. It's very uncommon that a package changes maintainer with an NMU. I couldn't spot signs of agreement of the takeover nor of the Salvation Process which documents the takeover.
