Based on a similar issue on the upstream bug tracker, this issue
should be fixed in 0.3.56 already available in unstable/testing.
Can you check if the new version solves your issue?

Best,
Dylan

Bug#1014926: pipewire: module-echo-cancel causes distortion in microphone input

2022-07-14 Thread Jan K
Package: pipewire
Version: 0.3.54-2
Severity: normal
X-Debbugs-Cc: jkran...@gmail.com

After upgrading pipewire from version 0.3.53-1 to version 0.3.54-2 the echo
cancellation module (module-echo-cancel) doesn't seem to work properly for me.

When module-echo-cancel is loaded with pipewire version 0.3.54-2 there is heavy
crackling in the captured microphone input, the sound is very distorted. When
the module is unloaded the mic sounds fine again (but there is no echo
cancellation obviously).

With version 0.3.53-1 the module doesn't have this problem, echo cancellation
works and there is no distortion.
