No reason other than I don't know how C++ libraries/namespaces work and
this is only my second time ever packaging a C++ library. What should I
name it instead, libfilesystem?

Is there a reason you picked that specific name?  Unlike some other
languages, there's no convention to name C++ packages after their
internal namespace, and this particular one clashes with Haskell,
confusing both machines and humans.
