Maybe we could raise severity to avoid this bug entering Stable? That would be rather regression...
Bug#1026062: Upstream bugs
This is on Debian Bookworm (install about a week old.) The last seemingly normal event in `syslog` was 2023-03-03T08:02:36.250204-06:00 olive PackageKit: get-updates transaction /328_cccbceda from uid 1000 finished with success after 526ms More at https://pastebin.com/VJtW4skv I found this when searching logs after I found this host solidly hung. No response to mouse, keyboard or ping. The screen was still visible and had not gone blank or into low power mode. This is on an X68_64 host running mostly Bookworm. There were some pending packages but none that appeared to relate to KDE or Packagekit. If there is further information I can provide, let me know. I do not know how to reproduce this. It happened once when I was not at the console. -- Beautiful Sunny Winfield
Bug#1026062: Upstream bugs
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=463576 and https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=462706 appears to be the obvious upstream kde bug. which implicates PackageKit: https://github.com/PackageKit/PackageKit-Qt/issues/42 which has https://github.com/PackageKit/PackageKit-Qt/pull/45 as a potential fix. Also as a hacky workaround, the bug seems to occur when updating the package lists, if you've recently refreshed the package lists (eg via "apt update") then the bug isn't triggered.
