That version says to check the portals.conf manpage if you need to opt into different interfaces. https://manpages.debian.org/unstable/portals.conf I have closed this bug now, because from xdg-desktop-portal-gnome's perspective, this bug is fixed now. After upgrading from Bookworm to testing some applications are taking
too long to launch. This happens in applications such as evince, eog,
thunderbird.
The delay comes from a timeout during the program start-up.
For instance, evince seems to timeout in the poll line:

Other programs like xpdf or ristretto do not show the same behaviour.
After some digging, it seems that the issue is related to the
applications using xdg-desktop-portal-gnome. After uninstalling it, the
problem is solved.
I am using Debian testing, kernel 6.7.0.
