This bug (i.e. artsc not initialising twice) was fixed by glibc 2.3.5, which
tracks direct opens and runtime dependencies on libraries separately. This is
confirmed by the simple C test case above.

However, I have now checked ppracer and it does indeed still segfault for me
with libsdl1.2debian-arts. This is a different bug, so I have reported it as
#331626. I am using amd64, so if you are on i386, could you please confirm
there that it is not a 64-bit-specific problem.

Bug#247793: 247793 not fixed here

2005-10-03 Thread darth maul
I still get the same error I did when I initially reported this bug (now
with ppracer instead of tuxracer).

some installed packages:
libsdl1.2debian 1.2.7+1.2.8cvs20041007-5.3
libsdl1.2debian-arts 1.2.7+1.2.8cvs20041007-5.3
libarts1c2 1.4.2-4

Pierre, am I to understand that you can run ppracer with sound using
libsdl1.2debian-arts without a segfault? If so, are there things I should
be looking for in my configuration? ATM all I can do is use
libsdl1.2debian-alsa instead. That's not an issue for me like it was back
then as I don't have kernel2.4 on here anymore, but on my machine the bug as
I reported it has not gone away.
