Could you please send me the output of strace -T hddtemp with the new version? It would be nice to have the two case, ie no sensor and wrong results. hddtemp (0.3-beta13-1) unstable; urgency=medium . * Only disable SCSI exceptions if they are already enabled (closes: bug#278345). I am afraid it doe not fix it, only shortens the pause. I found an USB disk that have the same problem as you, and I have found a way to workaround the problem. I thought it also fixes your problem.
