Bug#278345: acknowledged by developer (Bug#278345: fixed in hddtemp 0.3-beta13-1)

2005-03-31 Thread Meelis Roos
Could you please send me the output of strace -T hddtemp with the new
version? It would be nice to have the two case, ie no sensor and wrong
results.
Only the normal one that reports no sensor - couldn'r reproduce the
wrong results one with several hundred of tries with strace.

hddtemp (0.3-beta13-1) unstable; urgency=medium
.
  * Only disable SCSI exceptions if they are already enabled (closes:
bug#278345).
I am afraid it doe not fix it, only shortens the pause. Instead of 60 s,
it's now a 9 s pause and sometimes it even gives wrong results:

vaarikas:~# time hddtemp /dev/sda
/dev/sda: ICSI CF Card: known drive, but it doesn't have a temperature sensor.

You seems to have very strange hardware. I found an USB disk that have
the same problem as you, and I have found a way to workaround the
problem. I thought it also fixes your problem.
