Ha. So you're not even using Debian and you're not even testing my
 packages?

If you want to actually help then you really should test the packages

Ha. So my first complaint is: you don't provide an xfce4 package. :)

Actually the one versioned 4.0.5 should be ok I'd have thought.

Should I join any of those lists you mentioned?

I guess the question is whether you want to help or not. Certainly any
comments are welcome on the list.

Even more people saying they work fine or that they don't would be
 useful.
Yeah, i know. However, some people might never test 4.2 until it's in
 unstable at least.

Yup, I realise that. That's fine too. But not testing and moaning
about it is slightly annoying.

Would anyone please upload 4.2.(0|1) to at least experimental (I'd
love to see them in unstable though). I would test them on my sid
box at work. Maybe, others would do that too.
I can't currently as I don't have a key in the keyring yet. I need
to sort this out but also probably need to think about getting a
 sponsor for the existing packages.
How about the official xfce4 package maintainers?

That's pretty much me coordinating with Madkiss. Madkiss is hoping to
get some time soon to upload the packages to experimental so they can
undergo NEW processing. We'll see what happens first.

Simon.

Hi,
AFAIK, next week, Xfce 4.2.1 will be released, and 4.2.0 hasn't still
hit even experimental... Shame! :D

It is, isn't it.

If I had my way they'd be in experimental already but I'm not a DD yet
and there's a lot of source packages to check over.

They'll get there but we needed to sort out the goodies packages for
sarge first.

See:
http://bjorn.haxx.se/debian/testing.pl?package=xfce4-battery-plugin

For instance.

I don't think sarge will ship with 4.2.
