There have been license problems prior to version 3.0. I will check the new
version tomorrow.

Thanks for the hint - I haven't looked for updates for a couple of days.

Cheers,
Sebastian

2006-10-05 Thread Sebastian Harl
Sounds great. Will that mean that Enblend can be built against a .so of
libvigra? That will be even better :-)

No, unfortunately not yet. enblend requires some modifications that did not
make it into the official vigra release yet.

I don't really mind being part of a team, but I'd have to be honest and
say that right now I'm unlikely to be very active on it as I have moved
on to a few other projects that are taking up a lot of my time
 currently.

Well, I did not ask for help. I just did not want to take this package away
from anybody else interested in maintaining it :-)

The world can always use another bug. This way you get to close two
bugs straight away with a release!

*gg*

Cheers,
Sebastian

Bug#294389: enblend package

 Hi,

I contacted Andrew Mihal (the upstream author of enblend) and he told me that
he is going to release an updated version of enblend soon. The new version
will use vigra 1.4 which is subject to a license identical to the MIT X11
license (which is GPL and DFSG compatible). Thus any license issues should be
 resolved with this release.

I already packaged the current version of enblend (which I will not make
publicly available due to the license issues). I guess an update to the new
version will be fairly easy. Is anyone of you still interested in (team)
maintaining enblend? If I do not get any responses during the next week, I
will assume that nobody else is interested any more and upload the package
as soon as the updated package is done.

Hi,

I'm interested in co-maintaining it. I'm the maintainer of Hugin and
libpano12, I'm using them regularly to make panoramas from my pictures,
and I would be happy to co-maintain enblend.

I'm not a DD, but I'm quite experimented with packaging, managing
bugs,...

PS: Sorry for filing another ITP. For whatever reason I did find Baruch's ITP
before submitting mine.

Bug#294389: enblend: package ready too

Andrew: would you go for a team maintenance on these two?

I'm happy to go for whatever works. I built packages of Hugin (
Enblend, ...) for myself and was intending to upload them. Time has
moved on now, and I halted from uploading them while attempting to
separate out the dependency on libvigra which ISTM should really be a
library package that is used by Enblend friends. This proved very
challenging and my upload stalled as a result.

Do the packages that you have do this, or is libvigra statically linked?

Regards,
Andrew.
