Package: squid Version: 2.5.8-1 Severity: important I just upgraded squid from 2.5.7-8 to 2.5.8-1. The first time dpkg tried to configure it, the postinst effectively hung, with /usr/lib/debconf/frontend still running (and squid on the other end of the pipe, presumably, though I didn't check). Rerunning
dpkg --configure squid worked, but should not have been necessary. I believe you can avoid this problem by calling db_stop before running invoke-rc.d (or perhaps even afterward, but before is probably safer). -- System Information: Debian Release: 3.1 APT prefers unstable APT policy: (500, 'unstable') Architecture: i386 (i686) Kernel: Linux 2.4.27 Locale: LANG=en_US.UTF-8, LC_CTYPE=en_US.UTF-8 (charmap=UTF-8) Versions of packages squid depends on: ii adduser 3.59 Add and remove users and groups ii coreutils 5.2.1-2 The GNU core utilities ii debconf 1.4.45 Debian configuration management sy ii libc6 2.3.2.ds1-20 GNU C Library: Shared libraries an ii libldap2 2.1.30-3 OpenLDAP libraries ii libpam0g 0.76-22 Pluggable Authentication Modules l ii logrotate 3.7-2 Log rotation utility ii netbase 4.20 Basic TCP/IP networking system ii squid-common 2.5.8-1 Internet Object Cache (WWW proxy c -- debconf information: * squid/largefiles_warning: squid-cgi/cachemgr: squid/old_version: false squid/fix_lines: true squid/fix_cachedir_perms: false squid/anonymize_headers: squid/http_anonymizer: squid/authenticate_program: -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] with a subject of "unsubscribe".
