Bug#295636: aptitude crash if it run by $USER and not root

2005-02-17 Thread Michelle Konzack
Forgotten one thing:

I have two WOODY workstations one with xserver 4.1 (mga)
and one with 4.3 (because SiS)

It crash only, if I am on my WOODY Workstation with the
xserver 4.3, (Backport from Norbert Tretkowsky) but not
in 4.1 (original WOODY).

I can test it very well, because my /home is mounted via
NFS and it is the same for the two Workststions.

Greetings
Michelle

Ouch! Got SIGABRT, dying..
Abgebrochen

I have made some test in the last 4 weeks and encountered that it
crash, if I run it as ordinary $USER and the cache is not updated...

Which mean, if I log in as root, make 'apt-get update' or an update
inside 'aptitude', leave it and log in as $USER then it works.

First I was thinking, it it something cached in memory, but then
after a new crash I updated as root, loged out and COLD-rebooted the
Machine. Then as $USER apitude does not crash.

And I am not alone with this Problem...
So it is not my installation.
