Bug#297781: openafs: OpenAFS 1.3.79 release, supposedly fixes many Linux 2.6 bugs, 1.3.75 doesn't compile under 2.6.11

No, only for Solaris. I've exported AFS locations via NFS with no authentication and read-only access. (For example, to perform NFS installs of operating systems.) I'm still an AFS newbie, but am picking up speed quickly. I recommend highly the book Managing AFS. It is a bit dated but AFS really hasn't changed all that much over the years from the administrator's perspective, aside from kas-krb5 transition. -- Ryan Underwood, [EMAIL PROTECTED] -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] with a subject of unsubscribe. I had to remove all traces of kernel-preemption, or afs barfed. Supposedly a fix is comming in .82. Anyway, I'm writing to ask about the status of manpages and the up* and kas* tools - if any are ready to be included. I've moved into a position where AFS on Linux is going to be a big win time/effort wise in daily use (as the glue betwixt NFS on the mainframe, and CIFS on some XP boxes -speaking of which, do you know if there's an AFS/NFS translator for Linux?).
