That's because of art.gnome.org change: they added all old content that
doesn't have valid thumbnail URIs. And gnome-art has no exception
handling for that. I already prepared a patched package and now I'm
waiting for my sponsor to upload it. I also contacted upstream author.
He said, he will release a new version as soon as possible. It will
contain, among this bugfix, the much-requested caching feature and
installing window and application themes.

Maybe this bug should be severity "grave" -- it seems to render the
package essentially unusable; _every_ theme type I tried caused
gnome-art to crash with the same error at one point or another (usually
downloading the initial list; in the case of gtk engines, hitting
"preview" did it).
