The documentation in /usr/share/doc/svnmailer/docs/ lacks a sample file that you can just put somewhere, insert your email address and be happy. In the end, I gave up and just took svn's commit-email.pl because that one is easy to set up. Could you add a "bare minimum" config file in /usr/share/doc/svnmailer/ that also provides instructions on how to write the post-commit hook without being too verbose?
