Bug#315663: xfwm4: panel obscures taskbar

2005-06-24 Thread Nick Lewycky
Package: xfwm4
Version: 4.2.2-1
Severity: important

With the taskbar set at the bottom, and the panel set to horizontal,
both appear along the bottom of the screen. The problem is that if I
mouseover the taskbar to unhide it, it appears underneath the panel
making a large chunk of it unusable.

It's equally defective even with taskbar autohide off.

I think the answer is going to be well don't do that then as upstream
have changed this but I'll forward it upstream.

Mm? The panel has two choices (bottom and right) while the taskbar
hastwo choices (top and bottom). It is plainly unreasonable to tell me
that I can't put them both at the bottom.

What are the changes in upstream that you refer to?

As an aside, my wishlist-utopic fix for this would be a tasklist panel
applet and that the panel would horizontally fill the bottom of the screen.

Well not sure about that. But anyway, that's what upstream decided - to
make the panel sticky to the edge you pick.

The taskbar plugin does this and we have files ready to package it. I
think it just needs an upload. I'll have a look this weekend.

Oh I see, I missed the fact that I can set it to horizontal and drag it
to the top. My mistake.

Wonderful news! This was the only thing I felt that I'd lost when moving
to XFCE.
