Package: gcc-4.0 Version: 4.0.1-2 Severity: wishlist Tags: patch Hi!
It seems defining the DEBIAN macro in source packages has become a common trend. I could find around 60 packages that define this or equivalent macros (the most common one being DEBIAN). What would you think of standarising it a bit by defining this macro in gcc? I can think of a few advantages, including that upstream developers can use it to identify our distribution.
