Bug#328788: kaffeine: crashes on playback

2005-12-19 Thread Andrew Schulman
Package: kaffeine
Version: 0.7.1-1.3+b1
Followup-For: Bug #328788

I also have this problem. kaffeine crashes all over the place:

- When I start to play any video

- When I go to Settings -> xine engine parameters, or Settings -> Player engine
-> Gstreamerpart

in each case with the "backtrace appears to be of no use" message.

After changing to a recent kernel and kde 3.5, kaffeine set to use the
alsa sound engine plays back sound just fine, and nicely co-exists
with other sound-playing programs.

Bug#328788: kaffeine: crashes on playback

2005-09-17 Thread Marc Haber
Package: kaffeine
Severity: important

When playing back DVDs, kaffeine crashes either immediately, or when
starting to play the first chapter after the copyright warnings. On
the DVDs I have tried and where kaffeine doesn't crash right away, the
crash occurs on the first chapter that tries to play sound.

The Sound system is fine, and a locally compiled kaffeine 0.6-1
(recompiled for the C++ ABI transition) works fine.

The KDE Crash Handler says that the backtrace appears to be of no use.
A typescript of kaffeine's console output is attached.

Greetings
Marc
