Package: python2.3-mysqldb Version: 1.2.1c3-1 Severity: normal The current package is linked to libmysqlclient12 which does not work with MySQL 4.1 or higher. According to upstream MySQLdb developers it should work with 4.1 and possibly even 5.0, all you have to do is provide a python2.3-mysqldb linked against libmysqlclient14 (and optionally libmysqlclient15).
I don't know whether or not the newer MySQL client libraries are backwards compatible, but the 14 lib works with 4.0 servers. -- System Information: Debian Release: testing/unstable APT prefers testing APT policy: (500, 'testing') Architecture: i386 (i686) Shell: /bin/sh linked to /bin/bash Kernel: Linux 2.4.27 Locale: LANG=en_US, LC_CTYPE=sv_SE (charmap=ISO-8859-1) Versions of packages python2.3-mysqldb depends on: ii libc6 2.3.2.ds1-22 GNU C Library: Shared libraries an ii libmysqlclient12 4.0.24-10 mysql database client library ii python2.3 2.3.5-6 An interactive high-level object-o ii zlib1g 1:1.2.2-4 compression library - runtime -- no debconf information -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] with a subject of "unsubscribe".
