Package: python2.3-mysqldb
Version: 1.2.1c3-1
Severity: normal

The current package is linked to libmysqlclient12 which does not work
with MySQL 4.1 or higher.
According to upstream MySQLdb developers it should work with 4.1 and
possibly even 5.0, all you have to do is provide a python2.3-mysqldb
linked against libmysqlclient14 (and optionally libmysqlclient15).

I don't know whether or not the newer MySQL client libraries are
backwards compatible, but the 14 lib works with 4.0 servers.
