I'm not sure that a split is worthwile. After all, recompiling a package
like gnucash takes a lot of resources so that the nuisance of having to
install the KDE dependencies has very limited impact.

(Incidentally, splitting the Qt3 UI of aqhbci from its main package would
also be nice.)

No. Upstream (understandably) has issues with us splitting the packages
as it presently is and we don't want the upstream support list to be
flooded by people who can't figure out what they need.
You do realize that you the QT wizard is the only (graphical) method to
 set up your accounts?

I totally agree with Thomas, thus tagging this bug as wontfix.
I'm sorry.

Yours
  Micha

Bug#342848: libaqbanking0-dev: please split dev package

2005-12-11 Thread Matijs van Zuijlen
Package: libaqbanking0-dev
Version: 1.6.1-1
Severity: wishlist

I am trying to recompile gnucash with hcbi support, and now I just had to
install 25M of KDE packages to satisfy libaqbanking0-dev's dependencies.

Could you please make separate -dev packages for each frontend instead of
putting them all together in this one package?

(Incidentally, splitting the Qt3 UI of aqhbci from its main package would
also be nice.)
