Hi Sam,    I just wanted to ping you about the status of this ITP, because I am interested in packaging smbnetfs.   BTW, smbnetfs has now moved to http://sourceforge.net/projects/smbnetfs

Thanks for notifying me about this. I have uploaded 0.3.6-2 to the
mentors.debian.net archive. Details are available at

As for getting the package included in Debian proper, I'm still looking
for a sponsor to upload it.

Well, it's such a small package that I don't think it really needs
co-maintenence. Since you already have a sponsor, please feel free to

What does it bring over am-utils' /smb (in the examples) ?

Easier to set up, requires no configuration, doesn't depend on portmap. 
Possibly allows access to servers that require authentication (I 
couldn't check because there do not seem to be any SMB-related files in 
/usr/share/doc/am-utils/examples).
