Well basically it's almost a default debian kernel config. It's pretty big
but it should work with that.

If the problem is still there i would ask you to send me the exact error
message and the cmd line you used to create the vserver to see if i can
reproduce
it here.

Thanks,
Radu

They are actually enabled... :/ I'd be glad to try with your config, and then
see what I missed!

It's probably something missing in your kernel. Try enabling SCSI and
SCSI disk support. If that doesn't work i can send you a kernel
configuration that works with sda options.

As for making this an option in xen-tools, we are currently discussing
this with Steve.

Thanks,
Radu

Bug#352937: It would be nice to decide the device name style

2006-02-15 Thread Guido Trotter
Package: xen-tools
Version: 0.9-1-bpo1
Severity: wishlist

Hi!

I know this may sound completely crazy: I still cannot understand it
either! I have an installation of xen where I cannot boot guest machines
when I give them "sda" style virtual devices. It does boot them when I
use "hda" instead! (Yeah, I know this doesn't sound right)

Anyway it would be nice if xen-tools could provide choice when naming
the virtual devices! (I can write a patch, if you like)

Thanks,

Guido
