Do you have teTeX or TeX live installed? You are running sid, but what is your version of tetex-bin? Please send me the output of dpkg -l tetex-bin texlive-base-bin This is very strange. Did you NOT upgrade tetex to tetex3? In case you are running still tetex2, then I could explain this, but otherwise that would be strange. I removed the dependency on tetex3 and tex-common because many people want to use texinfo/info without a TeX system. I have to add a Conflicts tetex << 3, thanks for insisting. Next upload will not allow you to have texinfo and tetex2 together.
