I downloaded the source for the above package from Testing,
compiled and installed on my Laptop (Acer Aspire 1524 WLMI) having a
maximum Screen resolution of 1280x800. However, the screen ('xdpyinfo'
shows 1280x800) appear to be bigger than the monitor (right now 1024x768
pixels are accomodated), as the mouse movements near the edges of the
monitor moves the Screen.  However with the same XFree86 configuration
file, I could get the earlier version in Debian Stable (1.0.7174)
properly working.  Even now if I load 'nv' driver rather than 'nvidia'
it works properly.
I find in /var/log/XFree86.0.log:
