Krusader uses the kioslave system for remote connections.

Can you try Konqueror and do the same ftp operations (since both are
using the kioslaves) ?
If Konqueror get's also crazy it's probably a kioslave problem.
I'm not shure that the *krusader ftp crazyness* can be prevented or not,
i need to ask this at krusader-devel.
Currently the official krusader1.70.0-1 deb is not entered etch yet

I downloaded the krusader deb package from it's homepage and installed on my

The bug is that if the ftp connection is not stable enough(WLAN), than
krusader get's crazy. The ftp download hangs and if I close everything than
there is still a process which occours a crash in the krusader every time
when I restart it and try to use ftp again. Anyway if I don't close it will
never continue to work.
Midnight Commander works perfect!!! Anyway I am noticing some crashes in
various cases.
