Bug#370384: pretty unacceptable

2006-12-18 Thread Richard Atterer
severity 370384 normal
thanks

I basically agree, it is a bit misleading that the jigdo GUI application is
not yet capable of processing .jigdo files.

However, the app is not useless; it is a normal download manager for FTP
and HTTP.

Furthermore, jigdo-file (i.e. the package containing jigdo-lite) and jigdo
share the same source. Removing jigdo would also mean removing jigdo-lite
at this point of the release AFAICT, as the release managers would not
agree to changing the jigdo build not to produce a jigdo package.

Thus, I'll set the severity back to normal - the bug does not fit the
grave description, nor even important!

Cheers,

  Richard

Bug#370384: pretty unacceptable

2006-12-17 Thread Kacper Wysocki

What on earth is the jigdo package doing in debian at all? Just having
it in the repository risks misleading many users - myself included -
as the package delivers none of the functionality it has been
promising for nearly a year!

This package is *unusable*.

Either the maintainer fixes jigdo to actually process .jigdo files and
assemble .ISO images, or this package should be taken out of testing.
I'm bumping the severity of this bug to grave for uselessness.

Users beware: use jigdo-lite instead.
