Bug#373288: invalid udev rule concerning irda-utils due to wrong KERNEL parameter

2006-06-14 Thread Eric Lavarde
Package: irda-utils
Version: 0.9.16-11
Severity: normal

Hi,

each time I boot, I get the following message on the console:

Jun 8 15:11:59 localhost udevd[10401]: add_to_rules: invalid KERNEL operation
Jun 8 15:11:59 localhost udevd[10401]: add_to_rules: invalid rule
'/etc/udev/rules.d/irda-utils.rules:1'

The content of irda-utils.rules is the following:

KERNEL="ircomm[0-9]", NAME="%k"

I think that the error is that it should be KERNEL=="... (two equal
signs).

Nevertheless, this file (despite the name) doesn't seem to belong to
irda-utils, neither to any other package; I don't think having created
it myself, so I'm a bit perplex where it comes from and what I should do
with it (correct, remove).

Before I'll try on my own, do you have an opinion on this one?

Thanks, Eric

Yep, my opinion is that udev Never mind. irda-utils does not ship
that file, so you probably want to reassign this one to udev, if it was
udev the one putting that file there.

Alberto

Hi, looking for that file in unstable it doesn't seem to belong to any
package:
[EMAIL PROTECTED]:~$ sudo apt-file update
[EMAIL PROTECTED]:~$ apt-file search irda-utils.rules
[EMAIL PROTECTED]:~$

I'll try dpkg -S on your system to find which package put it there in
the first place and reassign this bug. Otherwise I'll close it since
it's not related with the irda-utils package.

Regards,

Alberto
