You do have a point there about the privileges. It appears to have escaped me. Logging in graphically is not neccessary - one can use gksudo. I was thinking that two thing can be done: (a) Add it with gksudo in Gnome's Applications->Internet->Driftnet (i.e. leaving the .desktop as is and adding 'gksudo' in front of exec. This makes sense in terms of categorisation, but on the other hand is not consistent with the rest of the system (I don't expect to find programs requiring sudo under 'Applications') (b) Add it again with gksudo in Gnome's System->Administration. Here 'Exec' needs to be changed again and Categories should look like "System;Settings;" I think the best to do is the second approach but it's really your call. Package: driftnet Version: 0.1.6-4 Severity: wishlist Hello. driftnet currently lacks a .desktop file. A bug was filed against the package in the Ubuntu bugtracker [1] and you can find a .desktop file attached there. It would be nice if this was included in Debian as well.
