Bug#379160: vnc4server: Binaries are not stripped - DEVELOPER ERROR!

2008-07-25 Thread Eddy Petrișor
 Hi Eddy

Hello Ola,

I thought this was resolved. I think I corrected it in 4.1.1+X4.3.0-23.
 http://packages.qa.debian.org/v/vnc4/news/20080419T113208Z.html

Obviously I missed to close the bug, because I did not remember that
 a bug actually existed.

It seems so, judging by the changelog you pointed me to.

Closing it now, but will reopen if you can confirm that the problem
 still exists.

It seems that I made a small error during my tests and I grabbed the
stable .deb when trying to check if the bug was present in lenny.
Sorry for any bad vibes I might have sent.

Ok, good to know. No problem.

Bug#379160: vnc4server: Binaries are not stripped - DEVELOPER ERROR!

2008-07-21 Thread Eddy Petrișor
Version: 4.1.1+X4.3.0-30

Hello,

I just took the source of this package and compiled it to check if
indeed this is a problem in the package.

I came to the conclusion that there is something wrong in the
maintainer's setup since for me the binaries in both packages were
stripped:

Source: vnc4

Closes: 489475

   * Correction for seen build problem on alpha architecture. Do not

So, dear debian developer, please fix your build system, use a chroot,
pbuilder, cowbuilder or any isolated chroot and upload packages that
have binaries stripped.
